RACE 1 (R722) CLASS 5 (A) – 1400M
MAZANDARAN, a course scratching as it had cellulitis off hind leg, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Trainer B Ng was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours for BEST DREAM (SS Vanan).
MASTER JIANGMEN (J Low) jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.
THE MILLIONAIRE (Z Khairil) had to steady racing to the 1300M to avoid the heels of AIR POWER (App L De Souza).
AIR POWER had to steady to avoid the heels of MYSTICAL STAR (App R Ruwaidy) at the 1200M.
FULL BET (App CK Khaw) had to steady passing the 200M when MYSTICAL STAR shifted out.
Over the 150M, MYSTICAL STAR shifted out taking ROBBEN (App S Rosmizan) wider on the track.
Prior to the “All Clear”, the Racing Stewards viewed the vision of the start as when the gates were released, the barrier blanket on CIRCUIT WINNER (S Salee) failed to fully release. The Racing Stewards took evidence from the Official Starter and also from Jockey S Salee, the rider of CIRCUIT WINNER and after considering the circumstances, declared CIRCUIT WINNER a runner.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that AIR POWER returned with epiglottic entrapment and that MASTER JIANGMEN returned exhibiting signs of respiratory distress. As such, AIR POWER and MASTER JIANGMEN will each be required pass a test (1000M/vet examination) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of THE MILLIONAIRE revealed no obvious abnormality. BIG BUS (C Goon) returned cut off hind and will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
App R Ruwaidy, the rider of MYSTICAL STAR, in the presence of his Master, Trainier C Robert, was shown the vision of the finish of the race and advised to keep his mount straight under similar circumstances in future.

RACE 2 (R723) CLASS 4 (A) – 1300M
GASSUR and PULAU PINANG, both course scratchings as they were bruised near fore tendon and had sustained a stone bruise on the near fore foot respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
OLIVER which was up 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of WINGED FOOT (R Shafiq) at 2.08pm acting on veterinary advice that it was bruised off hind. The gelding will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
BLACK MAMBA (S Salee) jumped away awkwardly.
BRISTOL DIAMOND (HS Gill) was slow to begin.
Post-race veterinary examinations of Q NINE MILLION (C Goon), BRISTOL DIAMOND and OLIVER (App S Hafis) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Stewards questioned Trainer R Lines, the trainer of MR MOSA (AK Lim) into that gelding’s improved performance. He stated that MR MOSA’s work had been normal and that the gelding was suited by the pace of today’s race. His explanation was noted.

RACE 3 (R724) CLASS 5 (A) – 1200M
BM POWER, a course scratching as it had a swollen left eye, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
JUSTICE GRACE which was down 27kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
The Stewards permitted Jockey HS Gill to replace Jockey F Yap as the rider of AUDACIOUS as the latter was unable to ride due to personal reason.
Heavy rain fell prior to and during the running of the race.
ANTHEIA (App N Varmah) jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.
Jockey HS Gill, the rider of AUDACIOUS reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of CHERON WARRIOR (C Goon) and D’GREAT WORLD (R Shafiq) revealed no obvious abnormality.
All riders returned to scale an average of ½ kg overweight due to the adverse weather condition.

RACE 4 (R725) MALAYSIA 3YO CHAMPIONSHIP (HEAT 3) – 1200M

Trainer S Dunderdale was fined RM500/- under PNTC Official Racing Programme Clause 3.4 for scratching RAKAMA without an Official Veterinary Certificate. In addition, he will have to pay the full Entry Fees and reimburse the Club all expenses incurred.
Heavy rain fell prior to and during the running of the race.
SELANGOR STAR (HS Gill) and TEAM WINNER (App CK Khaw) were both slow into stride.
UNSHADOWED GENERAL (KC Wong) and FANTASTIC ECLIPSE (Y Aify) brushed when racing tight approaching the 100M.
Jockey HS Gill, the rider of SELANGOR STAR, reported that his mount was not striding out freely and could not handle the going. A post-race veterinary examination of SELANGOR STAR revealed no obvious abnormality.
Jockeys SU Lim and R Shafiq, the riders of KING’S ORDER and BROKE IN LONDON respectively, reported that their mounts could not handle the going.
Post-race veterinary examinations of TEAM WINNER, SOLID BRISK (App S Hafis) and BROKE IN LONDON (R Shafiq) revealed no obvious abnormality.
All riders returned to scale an average of 2kg overweight due to the adverse weather condition.

The Racing Stewards, after considering the inclement weather and the state of the track, decided to abandon Races 5 to 7 at 3.30pm.

Trainer S Edwards’ explanation for the scratchings of the horses at declaration viz. DROUGHT, ODE TO JOY and L’APPRENTI SORCIER was accepted.

Trainer F Maynard was fined RM100/- each for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for scratching SUNTZU, NORTHERN KNIGHT and GASSUR on an incorrect form at declaration on Thursday, 6th June 2019.

RACE 2 (R715) CLASS 5 (B) – 1400M, SATURDAY, 8TH JUNE 2019, 1ST DAY, PENANG JUNE MEETING 2019
Jockey F Yap’s failure to fulfill his riding engagement on SUPER RED was investigated and it was established that he was unable to be on course due to personal reason. His explanation was noted.
RACE 6 (R719) CLASS 4 (B) – 1300M, SATURDAY, 8TH JUNE 2019, 1ST DAY, PENANG JUNE MEETING 2019
The Stewards questioned Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of ALASAMO into his ride on the gelding. Jockey Z Khairil stated that his instructions from Trainer KF Wong were to be midfield, and after getting a good jump, he was caught wide racing to the 800M and thereafter he was able to shift in to get a better position. He said that from the 700M, he commenced to ride forward on ALASAMO but received little response and on entering the straight from the 300M, he commenced to ride with the whip and at the 200M, the gelding had a tendency to get its head up and raced ungenerously under pressure. He further stated that ALASAMO finished the race only fairly.
After viewing the vision of the race, the Stewards noted Jockey Z Khairil’s explanation.
