There was a slight delay of the “All Clear” in this race whilst the judge reviewed the photo finish of this race which illustrated placed horses to be of close proximity with one another.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App A Azizi, the rider of BARBARIAN, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, NM Selvan, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding BARBARIAN in this race, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to BRADENBURG (KC Tham) at approximately the 800M mark.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App A Azizi’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 15 April 2024 and to expire on 27 April 2024 both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2024
The report dated 4 April 2024 (V24/049) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 26 coded urine and 28 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 31 March 2024, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
