RACE 1 (R724) CLASS 5b – 1200M (E lc)

3	ASIAN TIGER (App M Ekdihar)	Prior to the start being effected, the gelding broke through from the gate, was quickly restrained and after a veterinary inspection, was passed fit to race, was subsequently slow into stride. Vet inspection: No significant finding.
5	SUPER WHIRLWIND (J Low)	Laid inwards near the 1000M and when being steadied, threw its head in the air.
7	WINTERFELL (L De Souza)	Jumped outwards at the start, bumping runner and thereby crowded. Carried outwards over the final stages.
8	GRAND KNIGHT (App K Pavinthran)	Slow into stride and raced wide throughout. The bridle and browband shifted behind the gelding’s ears in running. Trainer advised to rectify equipment before using again.
9	PENNSYLVANIA (SU Lim)	Laid outwards over the final stages.
10	ROCK ME EASY (HS Gill)	Raced wide throughout.

RACE 2 (R725) CLASS 5b – 1200M (E lc)

1	BRING IT WIN (HS Gill)	Rider was struck with a clod of dirt in the straight.
2	CAORUNN (D Prastiyou)	Drifted out over the final stages. Rider dropped his whip in the last strides. Fined RM250/- under MRA Rule 152(5)(a).
4	D’GREAT STRIKE (MM Firdaus)	Slow into stride and raced with its head in the air in the early stages. An inquiry into the manner in which the gelding was ridden, was opened. After taking evidence from the rider and trainer, the inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed to allow the rider to call witnesses.
6	MISE EN GARDE (App M Seelan)	Pulled hard in the early stages with the rider turning the mare’s head inwards over the running rail. Rider was advised against this practice and referred to Apprentice School for remedial training.

4	HAPPY BIRTHDAY (HK Cheng)	Jumped awkwardly, losing ground and from its outside gate, was subsequently trapped wide and rearward, taking the turn into the straight wide. Finished wide out in the straight.
7	KIPEH (R Rueven)	Near the 400M, was held tight and had to be taken outwards across heels to obtain a clear run.

BLACK TAIPAN

The Stewards questioned Trainer HY Cheng and App H Haikal related to the riding of BLACK TAIPAN. Trainer HY Cheng advised that he instructed the gelding to be ridden in a rearward position, given that he was drawn wide and he did not wish for it to be trapped wide with the rail at 9M. He stated that the Apprentice’s ride was his normal standard that he was accustomed to and further that he accepted.

App H Haikal stated that he had ridden to instructions and had restrained early in an endeavour to position in the field and in the straight, had ridden with his normal vigour, however, BLACK TAIPAN had taken a bad step near the 200M and had thereafter tended to lay outwards and that returned to scales having cast its off fore plate.

Whilst accepting these explanations, App H Haikal was reprimanded for using insufficient vigour and advised that a repetition would lead to a charge being levelled.

6	CHINA CAPTAIN (App M Ekdihar)	Slow into stride and had to be restrained off the heels to a tiring runner near the 200M.

10	VETRI (App AB Riduan)	Drifted out when tiring in the straight, causing runner to steady from its heels near the 200M.

RACE 7 (R730) CLASS 4a – 1100M (E sc)

2	ANSU (App A Suriya)	Inclined to lay inwards in the straight.
3	DELAWARE (HS Gill)	Slow into stride.
6	GOLDEN QUEEN (App H Haikal)	Dipped at the 900M and again on several occasions between the 650M and the 300M. The mare was inclined to shift inwards near the 150M. When questioned regarding this, Trainer advised that he believed the mare was unsuited to the condition of the track and although she made some ground, she had below expectations.
