Vet inspection: Minor graze on the muzzle. |

An objection was lodged by Jockey MM Firdaus (GENERAL NIX), placed fourth, against App M Ekdihar (BIG BAD MAMA), placed third, alleging interference inside the final 250M. The Panel of Stewards upheld the objection and amended the placing to:

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App M Ekdihar, the rider of BIG BAD MAMA, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, SY Lim, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that, he permitted his horse to drift out in the straight, causing GENERAL NIX to check near the 125M.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App M Ekdihar’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 12 September 2022 and to expire on 18 September 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

The Stewards reaffirmed the direction that Jockey R Rueven was not permitted to accept rides at any carded weight less than 54kgs.
RACE 6 (R1068) CLASS 4 (B) – 1250M (A LONG COURSE), SATURDAY, 10 SEPTEMBER 2022, SELANGOR TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING 2022
After taking evidence from Jockey HS Gill (WISHUPONASTAR) and the gelding’s Trainer, BT Lim, the Stewards found Jockey HS Gill guilty of a charge under 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being:

He restrained the gelding on jumping, resulting in the gelding having to be ridden wide; and
-
His whip use in the straight, lacked validity and was in contrast to usage on other occasions.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey HS Gill’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) months with effect from 12 September 2022 and to expire on 11 December 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
REPORT OF ANALYSIS ON NON RACE-DAY SAMPLE:
TUESDAY, 23 AUGUST 2022
SLTC OFFICIAL BARRIER TRIAL
A report dated 1 September 2022 (NRD/V22/005) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 2 bottles of coded urine sample and 2 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned SLTC Official Barrier Trial were received on 28 August 2022, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected except for sample coded “17044” which revealed the presence of “furosemide”. After decoding the sample number, it was established that this sample was reported to have been taken from the horse NICATOR, which was taken on Tuesday, 23 August 2022 at an SLTC Official Barrier Trial.
On 6 September 2022, Trainer SY Lim was advised of the contents of this report and his attention drawn to MRA Rule 134(12) which prohibits this horse from racing until it is cleared by the Stewards, and MRA Rule 137(1)/MRA Regulation 46.1 & 46.2 relating to the referee sample. An inquiry will be held at a date to be fixed.
