11	BLACK TAIPAN (SU Lim)	Rider advised that he had been instructed to ride the horse in a midfield position and improve in the straight. However, he was of the opinion that the gelding had tired after straightening but kept it going in the straight with the use of his whip. In light of its performance, the gelding will be required to pass 1000M/vet. Trainer HY Cheng was fined RM500/- for failing to submit an application for his rider to ride 1 1/2kgs overweight.

RACE 6 (R1422) Max Two Stakes – 1400M (A4 lc)

When questioned as to why he was riding GOLDEN SPRINT some distance behind the leaders, App WW Cheah explained that after shying out on the first turn, the gelding had been inclined to change leads and was not travelling well for some distance. He believed that it was unsuited by the nature of the track and was inclined to stumble when ridden forward.

Trainer KC Tiang stated that he instructed GOLDEN SPRINT to be ridden just behind the pace, however, was disappointed that it had been some distance behind the leading division, and he was of the opinion that it had made some ground in the straight.

In considering the matter, the Stewards advised App WW Cheah that he would be expected to ensure all his horses are properly positioned and ridden so as to be fully tested.

Jockey SU Lim advised that RONALDO’S DREAM had shown no early pace and when racing wide near the tail, he eased in but the gelding had dropped back despite his urging, losing touch with the field and only running on moderately in the straight. Trainer S Hamilton stated that RONALDO’S DREAM was inclined not to show pace and this was its customary manner of racing, however, she also believed that the gelding had come to the end of the preparation and will now be sent for a spell.

4	EYE GUY (J Low)	Proved difficult to load. In light of this, the gelding will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test.
6	SAN ANDREAS (M Ewe)	After being loaded, the gelding put its off hind leg on the partition step, necessitating the rear barrier gates being opened and the leg extricated. This caused a delay.

The Stewards granted permission for Jockey M Ewe to replace Jockey AK Lim as the rider of SAN ANDREAS as the latter was unable to make the carded weight. Jockey AK Lim was fined RM250/- under MRA Rule 107(10) for failing to make the carded weight.

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC

POST RACE URINE: 26 NOVEMBER 2022

SELANGOR TURF CLUB NOVEMBER MEETING 2022

A report dated 1 December 2022 (V22/185) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 30 coded urine and 30 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 26 November 2022, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected except for sample coded “32429” which revealed the presence of “diclofenac”. After decoding the sample number, it was established that this sample was reported to have been taken from the horse “DOCTOR GINGER”, which finished first in Race 9 on Saturday, 26 November 2022 at the Selangor Turf Club November Meeting 2022.

Trainer SY Lim was advised of the contents of this report and his attention drawn to MRA Rule 134(12) which prohibits this horse from racing until it is cleared by the Stewards, and MRA Rule 137(1)/MRA Regulation 46.1 & 46.2 relating to the referee sample. An Inquiry related to this matter was conducted on Friday, 9 December 2022.

INQUIRY INTO A REPORT RELATING TO A POST-RACE URINE SAMPLE CODED “32429” TAKEN FROM THE HORSE “DOCTOR GINGER” WHICH FINISHED FIRST IN RACE 9 ON SATURDAY, 26 NOVEMBER 2022 AT THE SELANGOR TURF CLUB NOVEMBER MEETING 2022

The Stewards conducted an inquiry into the above matter on Friday, 9 December 2022 at the Selangor Turf Club. Evidence was taken from Trainer SY Lim, the Trainer of DOCTOR GINGER, Dr Shri Kanth (Senior Veterinary Surgeon of SLTC) and Dr Chan Sue Hay (Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics).

After considering the evidence, the Stewards disqualified DOCTOR GINGER from the race under the provisions of MRA Rule 134(11) and the placings were amended:
