At the conclusion of an inquiry, App S Shazmin, the rider of THE WONDERBOLT, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, EP Tan, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SHIBAB, MAGNITUDE and BLACK PRINCE in the concluding stages.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App S Shazmin’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 16 December 2024 and to expire on 22 December 2024, both dates inclusive. In lieu of one (2) Malaysian race days, he was fined RM2000/-. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App Clyde Leck, the rider of SMART ONE, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, C Leck, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to GOLDEN DASH (App H Haikal) at the 800M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App Clyde Leck’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 16 December 2024 and to expire on 28 December 2024, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

At the 300M, Jockey Z Khairil (SINGLE WARRIOR) had to ease and shifted to continue its run when awkwardly placed on the outside of FIGHTER (S Salee) which shifted out.

A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Jockey Z Khairil (SINGLE WARRIOR), the rider of the second placed horse against the winner FIGHTER (S Salee) on the grounds of interference and intimidation at about the 300M.

After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board was satisfied that for the above incident, SINGLE WARRIOR would have finished ahead of FIGHTER, therefore it upheld the objection and amended the Judge’s result to read:

3rd – NAUGHTY KID (App Clyde Leck)

4th – LIM’S SINAI (S Uzair)

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey S Salee, the rider of FIGHTER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SINGLE WARRIOR (Z Khairil) in the concluding stages.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Salee’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 16 December 2024 and to expire on 28 December 2024, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RELEASE THE SPIRIT

In the concluding stages, LUCKY WARRIOR had to ease and JO’S LEGEND had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of RELEASE THE SPIRIT which was hanging in in the straight and shifted in away from the whip.

A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by App Clyde Leck (JO’S LEGEND), the rider of the fourth placed horse against the third placed horse, RELEASE THE SPIRIT (App S Shazmin) on the grounds of interference and intimidation at about the concluding stages.  

After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board was satisfied that for the above incident, JO’S LEGEND would have finished ahead of RELEASE THE SPIRIT, therefore it upheld the objection and amended the Judge’s result to read:

1st – STORM PEGASUS (AK Lim)

2nd – JOYEE GO (AL Da Silva)

3rd – JO’S LEGEND (App Clyde Leck)

4th – RELEASE THE SPIRIT (App S Shazmin)

App S Shazmin and Jockey AK Lim were both examined by the Club Doctor who stood them down from their riding engagement(s) for the remainder of the races today.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App S Shazmin, the rider of RELEASE THE SPIRIT, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, EP Tan, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to JO’S LEGEND and LUCKY WARRIOR in the concluding stages.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App S Shazmin’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 23 December 2024 and to expire on 28 December 2024, both dates inclusive. In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was fined RM1000/-. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC

RACE 2 (R1090) CLASS 4A – 1020M (Track II), SUNDAY, 1 DECEMBER 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2024

The Stewards, on Sunday, 15 December 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the running and handling of OUR SECRET WEAPON. Evidence was taken from Jockey Z Khairil and Trainer NM Selvan, the rider and trainer of OUR SECRET WEAPON, respectively.

The Stewards reviewed the films of the incident and considered the evidence tendered. Jockey Z Khairil was found guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) in that he failed to ride his horse to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that after obtaining an advantage over the majority of the field at the start, he immediately restrained his mount which resulted in OUR SECRET WEAPON not being offered the opportunity to obtain a handy position as was instructed.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey Z Khairil’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from 16 December 2024 and to expire on 15 January 2025, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.


RACE 1 (R1100) CLASS 5A – 1020M (Track II), SUNDAY, 8 DECEMBER 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2024

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Sunday, 15 December 2024, Jockey R Shafiq, the rider of PACIFIC DELIGHT, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to NIMBUS COURAGE and DIAZ at the 750M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey R Shafiq’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day, to be deferred, with effect from 23 December 2024 and to expire on 28 December 2024, both dates inclusive. In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was fined RM2000/-. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.


RACE 1 (R1100) CLASS 5A – 1020M (Track II), SUNDAY, 8 DECEMBER 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2024

At the conclusion of an inquiry on Sunday, 15 December 2024, App A Nazir, the rider of NIMBUS COURAGE, in the presence of his Employing Trainer’s representative, EP Tan, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to THUNDERSTORM at the 700M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App A Nazir’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 16 December 2024 and to expire on 22 December 2024, both dates inclusive. In lieu of two (2) Malaysian race days, he was fined RM2000/-. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.


RACE 3 (R1102) CLASS 5A – 1275M (Track II), SUNDAY, 8 DECEMBER 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2024

The Stewards, on Sunday, 15 December 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the riding of SURFING CLOUD and took evidence from Jockey R Shafiq, the rider of SURFING CLOUD.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action.


RACE 6 (R1105) CLASS 4B – 1100M (SC A4), SUNDAY, 8 DECEMBER 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2024

The Stewards, on Sunday, 15 December 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the riding of ATLANTE LEGEND and took evidence from Jockey CK Khaw, the rider of ATLANTE LEGEND.

RACE 6 (R1105) CLASS 4B – 1100M (SC A4), SUNDAY, 8 DECEMBER 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2024

The Stewards, on Sunday, 15 December 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the riding of AUTUMN BLITZ and took evidence from Jockey SU Lim, the rider of AUTUMN BLITZ.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action.


RACE 7 (R1106) CLASS 4A – 1400M (LC A4), SUNDAY, 8 DECEMBER 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2024

The Stewards, on Sunday, 15 December 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the riding of HERO and took evidence from Jockey I Saifudin, the rider of HERO.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action.


RACE 10 (R1098) CLASS 5A – 1400M (LC A), SUNDAY, 1 DECEMBER 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2024

The Stewards, on Sunday, 15 December 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the riding of REMO MAMA and took evidence from Jockey S Salee, the rider of REMO MAMA.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action.


RACE 1 (R1100) CLASS 5A – 1020M (Track II), SUNDAY, 8 DECEMBER 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2024

Jockey Z Khairil (DIAZ) subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal and applied for a Stay of Sentence. The Panel of Stewards considered the application for a stay which was granted. The appeal hearing will be held at a date to be fixed.


RACE 2 (R1090) CLASS 4A – 1020M (Track II), SUNDAY, 1 DECEMBER 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2024

Jockey WW Cheah (SNOW DRAGON) who lodged an appeal against his suspension of two (2) Malaysian race days and fine of RM2,000/- for careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii), applied to withdraw his appeal on 9 December 2024. After consideration by the Appeal Panel, his application was accepted, and his deposit will be refunded. His suspension will commence on 14 December 2024 and to expire on 15 December 2024, both dates inclusive.

The report dated 12 December 2024 (V24/196) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 24 coded urine and 26 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 8 December 2024, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
