RACE 1 (R658) CLASS 5(B) – 1200m(lc) AEK HANDICAP
App L De Souza, the rider of GOOD VIBRATIONS reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of GOOD VIBRATIONS revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of BARKER ROAD KID (App CK Khaw), SATELLITE GENIUS (AK Lim) and SUPER GOOD (App WW Cheah) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BARKER ROAD KID returned having cast its off fore plate.

RACE 2 (R659) CLASS 5(A) – 1200m(lc) APOEL HANDICAP
TRIPLE ONE D’GREAT (App WW Cheah) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was found to be lame near fore. The Panel of Stewards acting on veterinary advice ordered the withdrawal of the horse at 3.50pm. TRIPLE ONE D’GREAT will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
SUPER DAN (J Chuah) was slow to begin.
CHERISH (KC Wong) stood when the gates were released and was slow to begin and then showed no early pace, despite being urged.
EASY LOVER (CK Tan) raced greenly to the 300M and shifted in, causing SUPER DAN which was racing on its inside to be taken inwards.
NEVERUNCONDITIONAL (HS Gill) had to be steadied at the 100M when ALIEN (App CK Khaw) rolled out.
App L De Souza, the rider of SAM THE MAN reported that his mount was not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of SAM THE MAN and CHERISH revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of NEVERUNCONDITIONAL revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 3 (R660) RESTRICTED MAIDEN – 1200m(lc) BENFICA STAKES
[2 & 3 YEAR OLDS ONLY] [WEIGHT-FOR-AGE]
DOCTOR GINGER (HS Gill) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.
LADY LAKSHMI (F Yap) which was led riderless to the start, will be required to pass one starting stall test [to be ridden unaided to the start] before being declared to race again.
SOLID BRISK (App S Hafis) was leaning on its outside barrier, jumped away awkwardly.
CALM AND TRANQUIL (App CK Khaw) jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped IPOH DASH (C Goon).
DOCTOR GINGER was checked on jumping away, when SHANGHAI NIGHTS (J Low) shifted out and at the same time, MONEY & ME (CK Tan) shifted in.
LADY LAKSHMI jumped away awkwardly.
IPOH DASH which was racing greenly, had to be steadied to avoid to heels of CALM AND TRANQUIL which was also racing greenly, resulting in IPOH DASH losing its position.
Racing to the 800M, WHO’S THE BOSS (App R Lingarajan) had to check outwards off the heels of LADY LAKSHMI when SOLID BRISK rolled out.
DOCTOR GINGER raced wide from the 800M until entering the straight.
SOLID BRISK which was racing greenly, rolled out and continued to race greenly, shifting out at the 300M.
DOCTOR GINGER raced greenly in the straight.
RAY OF HOPE (App J Daniel) rolled in under pressure over the final 100M and approaching the finish, brushed RAKAMA (J De Souza).
Post-race veterinary examinations of DOCTOR GINGER, WHO’S THE BOSS, MONEY & ME and QUEEN FORCE (AK Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of LADY LAKSHMI revealed that the filly had returned lame off hind and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SOLID BRISK returned having cast its near fore plate.

RACE 4 (R661) CLASS 4 (B) – 1200m(lc) AJAX HANDICAP
FIELD FORCE and ASPREY which were up 17kgs and 27kgs respectively in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
SOON YOU THINK (HS Gill) which cast its near fore plate whilst parading behind the barriers, was re-shod and examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
I AM MIDAS (App J Daniel) jumped away awkwardly.
SOON YOU THINK had to be checked shortly after the start, when RAIDEN HERO (CK Tan) which jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and at the same time, I AM MIDAS shifted inwards on jumping away.
Post-race veterinary examinations of HYDRANT (J Low) and I AM MIDAS revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Jockey J Low, the rider of HYDRANT into the instructions and disappointing performance of the gelding today. Jockey J Low stated that the instructions were from a wide barrier, to sit mid-field. He further stated that HYDRANT raced fairly in the going but failed to finish the race off when being placed under pressure. His explanations were noted.

RACE 5 (R662) CLASS 5(B) – 1400m (sc) ATLETICO DE MADRID HANDICAP
ACIPENSER (HS Gill) jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride and showed no early pace, despite being urged.
RED SAPPHIRE (App WW Cheah) had to be steadied off the heels of SUPERB SEVEN (S Anandan) racing to the 400M and as a result, shifted out, resulting in BUTCH CASSIDY (KC Wong) and DAWN PROSPECT (F Yap) having to be steadied and SUPER RED (App L De Souza) taken wider on the track. App WW Cheah, the rider of RED SAPPHIRE was shown the vision of this incident in the presence of his master, Trainer R Lines and was advised that he should take greater care when shifting ground under similar circumstances.
Jockey M Hanif, the rider of MARIO ATTILA reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of MARIO ATTILA revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of ACIPENSER, RED SAPPHIRE and SUPERB SEVEN revealed no obvious abnormality.
An inquiry into the running and handling of MARIO ATTILA (M Hanif) will be held at a date to be fixed.

GET THE LOTSKI which was up 30kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
ARECIBO (J De Souza) and ARCHER COMPANY (F Yap) were both slow to begin.
Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of MR DREYFUSS reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of MR DREYFUSS revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of KEEN DRAGON (App S Hafis), ARECIBO and ARCHER COMPANY revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 7 (R664) COSMO C – 1400m (sc) LIVERPOOL STAKES
[SET-WEIGHTS]
TOM KING, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised both fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
SING EXPRESS (CK Tan) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was found to be lame off fore. The Panel of Stewards acting on veterinary advice ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 6.20pm. SING EXPRESS will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
PREMIUM STARS (Z Khairil) jumped away awkwardly and threw its head up on several occasions.
PREMIUM STARS raced wide from the 800M until entering the straight.
PLATINUM LIFE (App J Daniel) had to be steadied passing the 800M when MYSTIC MASTER (App A Zaimuddin) rolled in slightly.
Post-race veterinary examinations of PREMIUM STARS (Z Khairil), JUST NAME IT (App L De Souza), SACRED GALAXY (J De Souza) and STAR STRIKE (AK Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.

GENERAL REPORT – PRTC
INQUIRY CONCERNING URINE SAMPLE CODED “J-3728” WHICH WAS TAKEN FROM JOCKEY S MUNIANDY ON 14th APRIL 2019 AT THE PERAK APRIL MEETING 2019 AND RETURNED POSITIVE TO “FUROSEMIDE” WHICH IS A PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE IN TERMS OF MRA RULES.
The Panel of Stewards concluded the Inquiry into the above matter today, Saturday, 25th May 2019 at the Perak Turf Club. Evidence were taken from Jockey S Muniandy, Dr. Lam Yee Yoon, Club Medical Officer, Perak Turf Club and the Chief Analyst, Professor Dr. Tan Soo Choon of USains Biomics Laboratory.
Jockey S Muniandy was found guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 136(3)(b) and the particulars of the charge were that a urine sample coded J-3728, submitted by him on 14th April 2019 at the Perak Turf Club April Meeting 2019, upon analysis, revealed the presence of Furosemide, which is a prohibited substance under the MRA Rules.
In deciding on penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account his disciplinary records and mitigating factors. Jockey S Muniandy was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months, backdated to Saturday, 27th April 2019 on which date when he was stood down from riding and to expire on Monday, 26th June 2019, both dates inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (3.10pm).
Jockey S Muniandy was informed that he would be required to provide a clear urine sample for analysis before resuming riding.
GENERAL REPORT – SLTC
POST RACE URINE:
11 & 12 MAY 2019
SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2019
The report dated 22 May 2019 (V19/063) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 70 bottles of coded urine samples and 70 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 12 May 2019, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
