RACE 1 (R692) CLASS 5 (B) – 1400m(lc) GALATASARAY HANDICAP
Due to the heavy downpour, all races are being put back by 30 minutes.
This race commenced at 4.00pm.
SUVARNABHUMI, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
EVIL TRAIN (J Chuah) which stood as the gates were released and lost considerable ground, will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.
Jockey KC Wong, the rider of IN FULL BLOOM reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of IN FULL BLOOM revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of ACIPENSER (HS Gill) and RIGHT PARTNER (Z Khairil) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 2 (R693) CLASS 5 (B) – 1400m(lc) MALMO HANDICAP
This race commenced at 4.30pm.
RACING MAN (App S Saddam) was slow to begin.
MORALES (J De Souza) was slow to begin and showed no early pace, despite being urged.
MARIO ATTILA (M Hanif) had to be checked racing to the 600M when RACING MAN rolled out. App S Saddam, the rider of RACING MAN was shown the vision of the incident in the presence of his master, Trainer Evert van Breukelen and was advised to exercise more care under similar circumstances.
Jockey J De Souza, the rider of MORALES reported that his mount showed no interest in the race. A post-race veterinary examination of MORALES revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MAYWEATHER (S Anandan), DEPUTY LAW (M Yusri) and MARIO ATTILA revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards questioned App S Saddam, the rider of RACING MAN in the presence of his master Trainer Evert van Breukelen into the disappointing performance today. He stated that RACING MAN was restless in the barrier and had its head over the barrier partition and as such, when the start was effected, he sat back and missed the jump. His explanations were noted. A post-race veterinary examination of RACING MAN revealed no obvious abnormality and the gelding was impounded.

RACE 3 (R694) CLASS 5 (A) – 1400m(lc) FLORA HANDICAP
This race commenced at 5.00pm.
HELLO SAYANG (App J Daniel) stood when the gates were released and was slow to begin.
POWER EXPRESS (HS Gill) had to be checked racing to the 800M when JETSTAR EAGLE (AK Lim) which was racing tight on its outside, was taken in slightly by GOLDEN EMPIRE (App S Saddam). After reviewing the vision of this incident, the Panel of Stewards deemed it a racing incident and took no further actions.
App S Saddam, the rider of GOLDEN EMPIRE broke his whip during the running of the race.
Jockey R Shafiq, the rider of D’GREAT HAWK reported that his mount was making respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination of D’GREAT HAWK revealed no obvious abnormality and the gelding which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of HELLO SAYANG and MY GOODNESS (SU Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R695) CLASS 5 (A) – 1800m(sc) VALUR HANDICAP
This race commenced at 5.30pm.
NOVA SPIRIT (KC Wong) was slow to begin.
POLO MASTER (F Yap) showed no early pace, despite being urged.
BALBOA (HS Gill) lost its hind footing taking the first turn and laid out.
Post-race veterinary examinations of M SEVEN (AK Lim) revealed that the gelding had returned broken-winded and BALBOA, NOVA SPIRIT and POLO MASTER revealed no obvious abnormality. M SEVEN will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that NORMAN (App CK Khaw) returned having cast its near fore plate.

RACE 5 (R696) CLASS 5 (B) – 1000m (sc) BAYER HANDICAP
This race commenced at 6.00pm.
POWERFUL STAR (HS Gill) was slow into stride.
DON’T FORGET THIS (KC Wong) was slow to begin.
CHERISH (J Low) had to be checked shortly after the start to avoid the heels of MILITARY STAR (App S Saddam) which was taken in by SCOTTIE (SU Lim).
MAJOR GREEN (S Salee) had to be steadied passing the 800M, when GLORY KID (App A Suriya) rolled in.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MAJOR GREEN (S Salee) revealed that the gelding had returned broken-winded and THONG’S JIAQING (F Yap) revealed no obvious abnormality. MAJOR GREEN will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SCOTTIE returned having cast its near fore plate.

RACE 6 (R697) CLASS 5 (A) – 1000m (sc) SCHALKE HANDICAP
PEACH BOWL, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore cannon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
This race commenced at 6.30pm.
STIRLING (CK Tan) stood when the gates were released and was slow to begin.
KING FORCE (App CK Khaw) and SIR HENRY (SU Lim) bumped at the 100M.
Post-race veterinary examinations of FIRST TAKE (J De Souza) and SNAGGLE PUSS (M Hanif) revealed no obvious abnormality.
At the conclusion of an inquiry today, App S Saddam, the rider of MANMADHAN in the presence of his master, Trainer Evert van Breukelen, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding MANMADHAN passing the 100M, he permitted his mount to shift out over the heels of NOVA EAGLE (AK Lim), resulting in CLASSIC KING (Z Khairil) having to be checked.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App S Saddam’s guilty plea and disciplinary record. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, effective Monday, 3rd June 2019 and to expire on Sunday, 9th June 2019, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his right of appeal (6.20pm)

CALVADOS which was down 17kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
This race commenced at 7.00pm.
FASTLANE (J De Souza) which stood when the gates were released and lost considerable ground, will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.
RAIDEN HERO (App L De Souza) shifted out on jumping away and bumped MAGICAL PARK (J Low).
BOLD PASSION (App J Daniel) knuckled on jumping away and was awkward into stride.
A post-race veterinary examination of HAPPY VALLEY (App M Sathiaa) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACING STEWARDS’ REPORT – THURSDAY, 30 MAY 2019
APPEAL BY APPRENTICE JOCKEY MUHAMMAD ‘UZAIR BIN SHARUDIN (APP S UZAIR) AGAINST THE SUSPENSION OF SIX (6) MONTHS FOR CONTRAVENTION OF MRA RULE 44(10) IMPOSED BY THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS IN CONNECTION WITH HIS RIDING OF RACEHORSE “SOON SEEKER” IN RACE 7 (R420), CLASS 4 (B) – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A) ON SATURDAY, 6 APRIL 2019 AT THE SELANGOR TURF CLUB APRIL MEETING 2019
The Selangor Turf Club Racing Stewards heard the above appeal on 30 May 2019.
After considering submissions from App S Uzair, in the presence of his Master, Trainer L Moy, and the Chief Stipendiary Steward, the Racing Stewards partially allowed the appeal and the suspension was reduced to 3 months to commence from 30 May 2019 and to expire on 29 August 2019, both dates inclusive. His deposit will be refunded.

The report dated 30 May 2019 (V19/066) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 62 bottles of coded urine samples and 64 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 19 May 2019, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

RACE 5 (R662) CLASS 5(B) – 1400m (sc) – ATLETICO DE MADRID HANDICAP
1ST DAY, SATURDAY, 25th MAY 2019 – PERAK MAY/JUNE MEETING 2019
At the conclusion of an Inquiry today, Saturday, 1st June 2019, Jockey M Hanif, the rider of MARIO ATTILA was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride MARIO ATTILA to the satisfaction of the Stewards in the above race, in that
The particulars of the charge are:
- After getting a good jump, he unnecessarily checked MARIO ATTILA on two occasions and as a result, was unable to carry out his instructions which were to be midfield.
- From the 1000M to the 500M, he failed to ride with sufficient vigour to improve his position when there was an opportunity to do so.
When deciding on the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account Jockey M Hanif’s riding records and mitigating factors. Jockey M Hanif was suspended from riding in races for a period of six (6) months with effect from Monday, 3rd June 2019 and to expire on Monday, 2nd December 2019, both dates inclusive. In addition, Jockey M Hanif was fined a sum of RM20,000/- (Malaysian Ringgit: Twenty Thousand Only). He was advised of his right of appeal (2.55pm).
Trainer Evert van Breukelen was fined RM250/- under MRA Regulation 17.1 for failing to ensure that the transfer documentations of ZAHRAT JUMEIRAH are in order before receiving the horse.
