STEWARDS’ REPORT – TUESDAY, 25 JANUARY 2022

RACE 8 (R115) CLASS 5 (B) – 1250M (LONG COURSE), SATURDAY, 22 JANUARY 2022 

The Stewards, on 25 January 2022 (Tuesday), inquired into Jockey WK Lee’s riding of BOOM ALMIGHTY in the above race. Evidence was taken from Jockey WK Lee and Trainer R Lines, the rider and trainer of BOOM ALMIGHTY respectively.

After considering the evidence and reviewing the performance of BOOM ALMIGHTY, the Stewards found Jockey WK Lee guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that in the opinion of the Stewards, he failed to ride BOOM ALMIGHTY with sufficient vigour and purpose over the concluding 150M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey WK Lim’s riding record, mitigating factors, his submissions on penalty and mitigating points as put forward by Trainer R Lines. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months with effect from 26 January 2022 and to expire on 25 March 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
