Witnessimpact

On a day where favourites seemed to be the play of the day, none was more impressive than the winner of Race 7, WITNESSIMPACT, who destroyed his opposition with a winning margin of 9 lengths. The five-year old, trained by Simon Dunderdale and ridden to victory by KC Low, went start to finish on his local debut and quickened up like a sort that’s going to have his fair share of wins in Malaysia.

Intrepid

The second of Simon Dunderdale’s winners came in Race 8 over 1400m in the Class Sup C event when INTREPID came from the clouds to win a smart race. He was slow into stride and lost a good couple of lengths coming out the starting stalls but slowly started to weave his way through the field. It was a great finish with Joker Nine Six and Lim’s Betterready fighting it out in the closing stages, but Intrepid had the last laugh under J Daniel and rewarded the punters who backed him into favouritism.

Graphjet Express

GRAPHJET EXPRESS returned to winning ways for the Rendevous connections, including Chairman Tan Sri Richard Cham, when winning the Class 4B over 1300m in Race 6. He had strong form heading into this race after finishing behind Antipodean in his two previous starts, and the drop in class certainly served him well. He had a few lengths to make up on the leader turning for home but once his rider, L De Souza, asked him to quicken, it was only a matter of strides before he came flying up down the centre of the track to win going away.  It was a race to race double for the winning trainer, HY Cheng, as KANTHAKA had won the previous race under HK Cheng in a Class 4A over 1300m.

Trainers Richard Lines, SY Lim and Simon Dunderdale all enjoyed a double on the day and apprentice M Ekdihar also rode a double aboard IRON SAMURAI and MR BIG BROTHER who are both trained by SY Lim. M Ekdihar was the only rider to have found the winners box on more than one occasion on the eleven race card.
