Racing fans can look forward for another exciting weekend of races at the Selangor Turf Club as the Club will host the running of a series of Safar Gemilang Sdn Bhd sponsored races on Sunday, 11 August 2024.

Safar Gemilang Sdn Bhd will sponsor the running of three races offering a combined prize money of RM105,000.00. The Safar247 Asia Pacific Cup is open to Class 4A horses and run over a distance of 1800 meters, meanwhile the Safar247 Asia Pacific Sprint Trophy race will be run over a distance of 1250 meters and it is open to Class 4B horses. The Safar247 Asia Pacific Stakes is open to Class 3 horses and run over 1020 meters.

Prior to this weekend sponsored races, Safar Gemilang Sdn Bhd has sponsored the running of the Four-Year-Old Safar Gemilang Cup on 21 July 2024. The race, run over a distance of 1600 meters and offered prize money of RM100,000 was won by Golden Pegasus astride Jockey S Ruzaini. Golden Pegasus is owned by Zarinah Binti Abdul Hamid and trained by Wayne Lim.

On the same day, the Club will stage the running of Selangor Turf Club reciprocal race with Korea Racing Authority, the Korea Racing Authority Trophy. The race is open to Class 3 horses run over a distance of 1250 meters offering prize money of RM40,000.

The twinning agreement between the Korea Racing Authority and the Selangor Turf Club was established in 2005 and ever since then both Clubs have developed a strong partnership and cooperation over the years. Executive Director of Korea Racing Authority, Mr Kim Jong Chul would witness the running of the race and present the prizes to the winning connections.
