Course A will be back in operation for Selangor Turf Club’s race meeting this Sunday with the rail out 6m for the entire circuit on both the long and short course.
The meeting has catered for most classes and will be headlined by the 1300 Supreme B contest (Race 6) which features the return of the talented KONG FU PANDA who has built an excellent record of 6 wins from 9 starts. The now four year old belied his age and experience against his more seasoned campaigners last campaign posting four successive victories. The gelding was fully tested in his 10 length trial win here on Tuesday posting 59.4 seconds, the quickest time of the morning.
KONG FU PANDA will clash the race fit NO FUN NO GAIN who appears on target of maintaining his unbeaten record in Malaysia following 2 wins from as many starts for the Richard Lines stable. The seven year old broke through for the first time in Class 3 grade last month with a decisive 4.75 length win and has trained on well since, looking strong under a tight hold in a trial victory here Tuesday week ago.
HANDSOME BENZ has been very competitive at this level during the season and his most recent start indicated that another win is not far away when he closed off well behind highly rated sprinter, Awesome Storm over 1100m, beaten a half length. The seven year old possesses a quick turn of foot and if the pace is genuine, he may be the one finishing over the top.
IRONCLAD looks a chance of a winning return in the 1300m Class 4 (Race 3) following two local performances. The seven year old was successful at his local debut over 1300m on June 19 before finishing runner up a month later. He will be matched against the inform DRAGON RYKER which is coming off successive victories and has really struck a rich vein of form since joining the Simon Dunderdale stable. GOLDEN CUP has only won a maiden in its career but was placed in this grade last month and looked sharp with the additional of blinkers in its trial win here on Tuesday morning.
