16 February 2025, Kuala Lumpur

A twelve race card only resulted in eight races being completed as the thunder and lightning came rolling in with torrential rain forcing the meeting to be abandoned due to inclement weather. Of the reduced meeting, Prince Lonhro stood clear of the rest in race 2 with an impressive win to open up his Malaysian account.

Prince Lonhro and KC Low

After three placings from four starts in Malaysia, his recent start when finishing second to Pacific General certainly caught the eye and it was only a matter of time before he would have his first win in Malaysia but the manner in which he won today was nothing short of impressive. Under KC Low he went from pillar to post in front and loved every second of it. Coming into the final 400m the only challenger was Smart Like Jason, from the J Ong stable, but couldn’t keep up with the winner as he found an extra kick and almost seemed like he was ready to go another circuit around the track when coming past the post. The winning margin was just under 6 lengths and trainer N Selvan will certainly be delighted with this performance.

Trainer W Lim celebrated a double on the day as Miej was able to find himself back in the winners box, despite his customary slow beginning, he was rallied by Y Aify to win by a shorthead. The same combination teamed up in race 5 as the overdue Rocky Pegasus showed what he is capable of with a quick turn of foot to win going away beating Infinity Victory where there was an objection for interference, but was subsequently overruled.

BT Lim also celebrated a double as the newcomer, Ace Sovereign won the first race under R Nuqman which, once again, was the same combination with Emerald Lisi who won race 6 after consecutive second placings in his last two starts. Sacred Sky made it back to back wins for the F Maynard outfit and won impressively today under Z Syafifie by over 3 lengths. Sacred Command took out race 4 for SY Lim under R Iskander and followed the trend of ex-Singapore horses winning in their first run in Malaysia. The race meeting was abandoned after Baby Twins opened up the account for newly relocated trainer, J Tan, and was able to stamp his authority with a 5 length victory under R Shafiq.

The next racemeeting will take place on Sunday the 23rd of February, the last meeting for the month at the Selangor Turf Club.
