PDRM D7 Division Visited Totalisator Board
A group of six senior Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers from the D7 Gambling/Vice/Secret Services Prevention Division made a friendly visit to the Malaysia Totalisator Board (LTM) office in Petaling Jaya, Selangor on 21 July 2022.
Chairman of LTM, Tan Sri Datuk Richard Cham Hak Lim welcomed the group headed by Chief Assistant Director of D7 Criminal Investigation Department, Senior Assistant Commissioner (SAC) Mohamad Noor Bin Yusof Ali.
The officers were briefed on the job function and operations of LTM, which is a statutory board under the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia, established following the enactment of The Racing (Totalisator Board) Act in 1961.
Tan Sri in his welcome speech took the opportunity to convey his thank you to the Inspector General of Police, Malaysia, Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani for granting his consent to appoint an officer from the D7 Division to sit as a LTM Board Member for the next term of board membership appointment. The current LTM Board Membership will cease on 31st July 2022.
The discussion among others touched the importance of eradicating illegal bookmakers in horse racing, assistance provided by LTM to the Police and sharing of expertise and knowledge on horse racing sports and wagering.
Other PDRM officers participated in the visit are Assistant Director of D7 Anti Vice/Gambling, Criminal Investigation Department, Assistant Commissioner (ACP), Mohd Sabri Bin Abdullah and officers Superintendent (SUPT) Mahani Binti Mohamed, Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Azman Bin Hamzah, Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Zolhamli Bin Wahab and Norkhizan Bin Ramli.
Also present on behalf of LTM were Board Member, Dato’ Dr Quaza Nizamuddin Hassan and Acting Chief Executive Officer, Puan Nor Hashimah.
