RACE 8 (R123)         CLASS 5 (A) – 1250M (LONG COURSE) 

On inquiry, App S Sia, the rider of DARLING, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, R Lines, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted out passing the 250M, causing JACKS SECRET to be steadied, bumping heavily with AUSSIE EAGLE near the 150M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App S Sia’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, his unblemished record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days with effect from 24 January 2022 and to expire on 2 February 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 9 (R124)         CLASS 5 (B) – 1250M (LONG COURSE) 

An objection was lodged by Jockey J Shankar (SUPER DRAGON), placed second, against SMART MASTER (SU Lim) being declared the winner alleging interference over the final 75M, was overruled by the The Panel of Stewards.

On inquiry, Jockey SU Lim, the rider of SMART MASTER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted out at the concluding 150M causing ASSASSIN to be inconvenienced and SUPER DRAGON to check near the 50M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey SU Lim’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days with effect from 24 January 2022 and to expire on 2 February 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
