SELANGOR TURF CLUB NOVEMBER MEETING 2023

 SUNDAY, 3 DECEMBER 2023

RACE 4 (R1302)       OPEN MAIDEN – 1100M (SC A) 

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App H Haikal, the rider of JAZZ BAND, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, HY Cheng, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding JAZZ BAND in this race, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to RAISE YOUR GLASS (S Ruzaini) at approximately the 800M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App H Haikal’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, with effect from 11 December 2023 and to expire on 23 December 2023, both dates inclusive, to be served consecutively with any other suspension. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 6 (R1304)       CLASS 3 – 1200M (SC A) 

 SINGAPORE POOLS TROPHY

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey AK Lim, the rider of TORNADO PEGASUS, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding TORNADO PEGASUS this race, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to RHYTHM OF ZEN and INTENT at approximately the 1100M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey AK Lim’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, with effect from 4 December 2023 and to expire on 10 December 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 9 (R1307)       CLASS 4 A – 1400M (LC A) 

 BETMAKERS CUP

 At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of GOLDEN PEACH, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding GOLDEN PEACH in this race, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SOMAR when he adopted a running line which resulted in SOMAR having to ease and making contact with the rail at approximately the 1100M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Ruzaini’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 4 December 2023 and to expire on 10 December 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

SATURDAY, 2 DECEMBER 2023

RACE 5 (R1292)       METRO A  – 1200M (SC A)

SUNGEI BESI AUTOWORLD CUP 

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey WW Cheah, the rider of HEARTENING FLYER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to AWESOME STORM (J De Souza) at the 1100M mark.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey WW Cheah’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days with effect from 4 December 2023 and to expire on 17 December 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 8 (R1295) CLASS 4 A – 1200M (SC A)  

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App M Ekdihar, the rider of PACIFIC EMPIRE, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, SY Lim, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii). The particulars of the charge being that he failed to take all reasonable steps in order to prevent PACIFIC EMPIRE from shifting in at the 900M which shift resulted in MAGNITUDE (J Low) clipping its heels and Jockey J Low being dislodged.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App M Ekdihar’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of five (5) Malaysian race days with effect from 4 December 2023 and to expire on 6 January 2024, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 10 (R1297)     CLASS 5 A – 1100M (SC A) 

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App H Haikal, the rider of STRETCHY FOUR, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, HY Cheng, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding STRETCHY FOUR in this race, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to STORM TO WIN (App A Nazir) and SHOQEET (E Ferreira) at approximately the 700M.

He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 4 December 2023 and to expire on 10 December 2023, both dates inclusive.
