Inglis Digital a growing source of Malaysian success
The remarkable success of Inglis Digital graduates in Malaysia continued on Sunday when Simon Dunderdale’s 5YO Witnessimpact (Star Witness) scored a stunning victory in the Open Novice Handicap.
Witnessimpact was having his first race start in Malaysia for Dunderdale, who purchased him for $17,000 in the February (Early) Online Sale as a nine-start maiden.
On his debut run at Selangor at the weekend, Witnessimpact went straight to the lead for jockey KC Low before careering away for a dominant 9L victory.
He’s just the second Malaysian runner Dunderdale has purchased off Inglis Digital, the other being Fatal Attraction – a $4000 online purchase – who has raced three times for a debut victory and two second placings.
Dunderdale targets the Inglis Digital platform for his stable because of the platform’s global reputation of strong integrity.
“We can’t get the horses vetted by our vets over here obviously so we rely on Inglis keeping everything out in the open about each horse, every piece of information about the horses and any issues they might have or have previously had and it’s certainly been so far, so good for me,’’ Dunderdale said.
“I’ve bought 16 horses off the platform – the two to race are both winners, I’ve got five more ready to go and the others are either still in Australia or not yet ready to race so I can’t speak more highly of Inglis Digital.
“Witnessimpact is a really nice horse, he was a maiden running in a Novice race on Sunday so that’s a big jump but the way he was working at home, we knew he’d run a nice race but I think it’s fair to say we weren’t expecting him to win as easily as he did. He has a nice future here, that’s for sure.’’
Witnessimpact’s victory continued a stellar run for Inglis Digital graduates in Malaysia, including Quicken Away ($7500 online buy) winning the Listed Dr Lim Ah Soo Memorial Trophy in July, Golden Pegasus ($19,000 online buy) who has now won or placed at Selangor 11 times including major wins in the Selangor TC Safar Gemilang Cup and the Selangor TC 4YO Sprint last month and Teochew Kid ($14,000 online buy), a five-time Malaysian winner and recent black type placegetter.
Since October 15th 2023, a total of 22 individual Inglis Digital graduates have won 39 races at Selangor
