Horse Racing in Singapore
Selangor Turf Club is saddened by the unexpected news that horse racing in Singapore Turf Club will come to an end on 5 October 2024.
We respect the decision made by the Singapore Government.
Currently, the 4 Clubs – Singapore Turf Club, Selangor Turf Club, Penang Turf Club and Perak Turf Club are members of the Malayan Racing Association (“MRA”) which was founded as Straits Racing Association in 1896 to regulate and promote the sport of horse racing in Singapore and Malaysia.
Over the many decades, through our involvement in MRA and other areas of cooperation, Selangor Turf Club has forged a strong relationship with Singapore Turf Club. We are ready to support Singapore Turf Club’s racing community during the transition period.
Horse racing in Selangor Turf Club has a rich and colourful history of nearly 130 years. In recent times, the export of our races has put Malaysia on the map of many overseas centers. While racing faces many challenges globally, Selangor Turf Club is determined to evolve and compete in order to ensure that our sport thrives in the years to come.
