The Selangor Turf Club hosts a 10 race card on Sunday as the build up begins for the Hygain Horse City Selangor Gold Cup which takes place next week Sunday on the 8th of September.

The best bet on the card should come in Race 6 with TOM’S LIGHTNING. The former New Zealand galloper is two from two in Malaysia and will be looking to keep his unbeaten local record intact. HS GILL will ride for trainer, C LECK in this 1200m Class 3 event and is certainly the standout runner on the day.

Other runners to consider for Sunday’s raceday include BEIHAI CAPTAIN in Race 8 as well as DARCY in Race 10. Beihai Captain has finished runner up in his last two starts behind the impressive Witnessimpact and with that sort of form behind his name, Beihai Captain looks like he is perfectly placed in this Open Novice contest over 1400m and is extremely well weighted with the apprentice claim of 3kgs from M EKDIHAR who rides for the R LINES stable.

DARCY won impressively on his local debut in Malaysia by 2 lengths and will be looking to follow up three weeks later after that win in a Class 5B over 1400m. He now steps up in class and in distance in a Class 5A over 1800m and off a relatively low mark of 38, he should be good enough to win again. SU LIM rides for the R LINES stable who has a few runners on the day that have strong winning chances.
