RACE 3 (R175) CLASS 4 (A) – 1100M (SHORT COURSE)
On Inquiry, App M Lukman, the rider of SCOOBY DOOBY DOO, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, WC Lim, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in at this stage.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App M Lukman’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days with effect from 14 February 2022 and to expire on 26 February 2022, both dates inclusive, to be served consecutively with any other penalty. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
RACE 7 (R179) METRO A (SW) – 1600M (LONG COURSE)
*On inquiry, Jockey J Shankar (BLACK THORN) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting in, and bumping EYE GUY and carrying that gelding in at this stage.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey J Shankar’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Selangor race days with effect from 7 February 2022 and to expire on 26 February 2022, both dates inclusive, to be served concurrently with any other penalty. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
RACE 10 (R172) CLASS 5 (B) – 1300M (SHORT COURSE) – GOOD HEALTH STAKES
WEDNESDAY, 2 FEBRUARY 2022, SELANGOR TURF CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING 2022
The Stewards inquired into Jockey J Shankar’s riding of NOVA DASHING in the above race. It was established that NOVA DASHING had dwelt at the start and lost considerable ground.
After considering evidence from Jockey J Shankar and Trainer S Siva, the rider and trainer of NOVA DASHING respectively and reviewing the film, the Stewards found Jockey J Shankar guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that he failed to improve his position between the 750M and 400M when racing unimpeded on the fence following the winner, GALLANT BLACK.
The Stewards took into consideration Jockey J Shankar’s riding record, mitigating factors and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months with effect from 7 February 2022 and to expire on 6 April 2022, both dates inclusive, to be served concurrently with any other penalty. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
