At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey WW Cheah, the rider of IRONSTORM, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he failed to ensure the he did not cause interference to OTAHUHU, ONE ABRACADABRA and BABY TWINS in the home straight.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey WW Cheah’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 3 March 2025 and to expire on 8 March 2025, both dates inclusive, to be served consecutively with any other penalty. In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was also fined RM1,500/–. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

Jockey R Iskandar (CONGAREE) appeared before the Panel and was questioned regarding his horse throwing its head at the jump. In this regard, he explained that his mount was nervous in the gates and despite allowing CONGAREE the correct length of rein, it threw its head on jumping for no apparent reason. The Panel noted the explanation of Jockey R Iskandar but advised that his techniques on jumping would be continued to be monitored.

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC
RACE 12 (R0135) CLASS 5B – 1300M (LC A), SUNDAY, 23 FEBRUARY 2025, SELANGOR TURF CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING 2025
The Stewards, on Saturday, 1 March 2025 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the running and handling of HEALTHY BABY and took evidence from Jockey AL Da Silva, the rider of HEALTHY BABY.
After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action, however, advised him to ride his mounts so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards.
TUESDAY, 25 FEBRUARY 2025, SLTC TRACKWORK
Trainer F Maynard was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for galloping BLACK THORN on Track II without seeking the prior permission of the Stewards.
AMENDMENT
RACE 4 (R0127) CLASS 4B – 1200M (SC A), SUNDAY, 23 FEBRUARY 2025, SELANGOR TURF CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING 2025
After further consideration, the Panel of Stewards has decided to rescind the 1 Starting Stall test imposed on JUNGLE CRUISE in this race.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey A Suriya’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 17 February 2025 and to expire on 23 February 2025, both dates inclusive. [Penalty on fine deleted.] He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

SELANGOR TURF CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING 2025
The report dated 28 February 2025 (V25/029) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 33 coded urine and 39 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 23 February 2025, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
