At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey KC Wong, the rider of FOREST GOLD, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding FOREST GOLD, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to HAPPY WARRIOR at approximately the 250M.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey KC Wong’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 27 April 2025 and to expire on 3 May 2025, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

Jockey L De Souza appeared before the Panel and was questioned regarding an incident involving PACIFIC GOLD. In this regard, he explained that after jumping fairly, as he opened the reins to ask PACIFIC GOLD to gather momentum, however instead, he felt that the horse began to slow itself down. He further explained that despite his efforts of shouting and manoeuvring his reins, PACIFIC GOLD leaned back, pulled itself up and refused to gallop. The Panel noted his explanation.

WECANDO was subsequently withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 2:17pm, as the pre-race samples were unable to be analyzed on time prior to the commencement of the race.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey WW Cheah, the rider of BIG BAD MAMA, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding BIG BAD MAMA, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to BOY XANDER in the concluding stages.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey WW Cheah’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 21 April 2025 and to expire on 26 April 2025, both dates inclusive. In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was also fined RM1,500/–. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
