Trainer Tan Soo Beng’s newcomer Superstardom is the one to watch to race in better company after an impressive first time out win in Race 8. The four-year-old by Street Boss was tucked in midfield at the early part of the race and with in-form Jockey Oscar Chavez astride, railed on gamely in the run home to beat War Dragon. Keep a close note on War Dragon as his winning turn would be soon judging from the close finish. The four-year-old by Battle Paint showed speed and came down fighting at the finish. The Dodger should be racing in better company soon, after an eye catching victory in Race 10. The seven-year-old by Encosta De Lago with Jockey Jackson Low on board came with a pulverising run at the final 300m to beat Sacred Surfer in a convincing manner. Trainer Frank Maynard’s Snow Dancer proved to be a capable galloper judging from the back to back victory in Race 3. The five-year-old by Floral Pegasus made tremendous ground rounding the home bend to breeze past the early leaders to win beating the favourite Gold Mosa. Trainer Frank Maynard saddled four winners in the card of 12 races at Selangor turf Club last Sunday. Currently lying second in the trainers’ championship with 70 winners, Maynard got off the winning streak in the opening event with Toobigtofail , continued in Race 3 with Snow Dancer , He saddled Skydancer Eclipse in Race 5 and capped the day in Race 10 with The Dodger . Trainer Richard Lines continued his winning way when saddled three winner s thus taking his tally to 81 winners and likely poise to be Champion Trainer for a record eight times. Lines saddled in race 2 with Confoun d and had to wait till Race 11 with Rainbow Fish and completed the day in the last event with Powerful Fighter . Trainer Charles Leck who is lying in third spot with 67 winners also saddled a treble with Chips in Race 4, Happy Dayz in Race 7 and Panda Bom b in Race 9. Trainer Tan Soo Beng had a double in Race 6 with Ateej and Superstardom in Race 8 and got 28 winners so far.
On the jockey front, the honours had to be shared by Oscar Chavez and Jackson Low , both rode three winners apart.
J. Low took the opening event with Toobigtofail, Chips in Race 4, and The Dodger in Race 10.
While Chavez won on Confound in Race 2, Ateej in Race 6 and Superstardom in Race 8.
Jockey SU Lim rode a double in Race 3 with Snow Dancer and Panda Bomb in Race 9.
