Khao Manee Makes It Three
20 April 2025, Kuala Lumpur

Twelve races took place on Sunday the 20th of April and the Jerome Tan trained Khao Manee was back in the winners box for a third successive time since moving to Malaysia. Ridden by regular pilot M Akmazani, it was his arguably his toughest task to date considering he was more than halfway back in the field turning for home and looked like he was going to struggle to catch the Golden Fifty Four and Make You Happy who hit the front at the 200m mark. However, he was able to pull his ride off the rail towards the middle-outside of the straight and in the final 100m found his stride and quickened up to win a head. He remains unbeaten in Malaysia from as many starts.
This was the first of a double for the J Tan stable as Baby Twins went start to finish in front in the fourth race with a well timed ride by R Shafiq who also celebrated a double on the day as he opened up the meeting with Behind Player for J Ong with a similar on speed run. This was the first of a double for the Ong stable as Pacific Vampire bounced back to winning ways in a quality field in race 9 beating the Tunku Gold Cup winner Noah Khan in the process. C Henrique timed the ride to perfection setting the fractions in front and was still able to find more despite a late challenge by Noah Khan. Henrique also rode Campionessa for the S Dunderdale stable earlier in the afternoon who certainly looks like a progressive sort. S John was the final jockey to celebrate a double on the day with wins aboard the R Lim trained V’Invincible in race 3 as well as Lim’s Sinai for Lawson Moy in the penultimate race of the afternoon.
