Noah Khan scores spectacular upset
Kuala Lumpur, Feb 23, 2025

Noah Khan scored a spectacular upset in one of the Supreme A sprints over 1200m at Sungai Besi today.
With a line-up that included Witnessimpact, Super Salute and Pacific Vampire, to name a few, the son of Swiss Ace left his rivals standing in the final 200m to win the set-weight event by 5-1/4 lengths.
Placed once in seven runs in New Zealand, Noah Khan’s won four races in the lower classes, three in Class 4 and one in Class 3.
The New Zealand gelding finished second of five runners in a Rapid Stakes A 1400m race in Penang last Dec 29 and his first attempt at a Supreme A race saw him beat just one home in the RM100,000 Chinese New Year Prosperity Trophy (1600m) on Jan 31.
However, dropping back to 1200m today brought out a totally different performance from the six-year-old.
Witnessimpact as usual was smartly away and led early. From the middle of the chasing pack, Pacific Vampire quickly shot to the front and Witnessimpact was happy to trail him.
Noah Khan bowled along in fifth spot, some five lengths from the leader.
Witnessimpact closed in on Pacific Vampire at the top of the straight and drew level 200m out. Just when everyone thought they were going to fight out the finish, Noah Khan came charging home and raced pass them in a matter of strides to win drawing away.
It was an astonishing result to say the least, beating by Witnessimpact, one of the best sprinters around, by such a big margin. Noah Khan paid RM272 for a win.
“He was just awesome today,” said jockey Yudanyl Aify.
“Despite the strong opposition, I thought he had a chance, especially with the light weight (52kg).
Noah Khan raced as Magic General in 2023 and early last year for trainer Lim Shung You, winning once in eight starts.
But it was not until a name change and coming under the charge of Siva Kumar that he blossomed. He has now won four times in eight starts for his new trainer.
