NAKANO DEBUTS AT STC
Kuala Lumpur, 20 September
With a double header of racing taking place at the STC this weekend, it is a perfect time to welcome a new face to Malaysia as S NAKANO has joined the local jockey ranks. Born on the 1st of November 1991 in Toyama City in Japan, Nakano is now 33 years old and despite not having much memory of how he got into racing, he can still remember the overwhelming joy he had when discovering that he could take an entrance exam for the jockey school.
Hailing from Japan and plying his trade recently in Macau, he has been riding for 15 years with notable career highlights such as being voted as the best apprentice in the NAR Tokyo Area in 2011; invited by the JRA to participate in the World All Star Jockey Series in Japan in 2017; holding two record times in Macau as well having won the Macau Derby and Macau Gold Cup.
When asked what he is looking forward to the most in Malaysia, his reply was that he is excited that he will be able to race together with one of the leading jockeys in Malaysia, S RUZAINI. Nakano will be looking to break the ice early as he already has a few rides this weekend starting off on Saturday in Race 9 aboard General Cheng for the KC TIANG stable. Sunday’s card includes runners in Race 2 with General Qin as well as the last race for the same stable with Super Manjung who could be the best of his chances for the weekend.
Once he has won his first race in Malaysia he plans to celebrate accordingly with a steamed Emperor Fish to feast on.
