Hygain Horse City Selangor Gold Cup

The Selangor Turf Club would be staging the running of the Hygain Horse City Selangor Gold Cup, which is also the second leg of the ever popular Triple Crown Series on Sunday, 8th September 2024.
The Triple Crown Series consists of the three Classic Group 1 races of the Selangor Turf Club. The first leg, the Equine Sanctuary Tunku Gold Cup was held on April 14, 2024. The final leg is the Piala Emas Sultan Selangor race scheduled to run on December 1, 2024.
Appropriately themed “where sprinters meet stayers”, the series is an open race for three years olds and above with rating band 71 and above, run over three varying distances of 1200 metres for the Equine Sanctuary Tunku Gold Cup, 1600 metres for the Hygain Horse City Selangor Gold Cup and finally 2000 metres for the Piala Emas Sultan Selangor. The Hygain Horse City Selangor Gold Cup offers prize money of RM200,000.00.
CHEVAL BLANC captured the first leg of the series, the Equine Sanctuary Tunku Gold Cup. The horse is owned by RC & Team Cheval Stable and trained by Frank Maynard.

On the same day, in conjunction with Malaysia’s 67th Independence Day on 31st August 2024, the Club would be hosting a Merdeka celebration afternoon at the races with the theme “Galloping Into 67th Years of Unity and Prosperity”. The event will see around 150 invited guests dressed in their best, gathered at the Club to experience an atmosphere of a great day with a blend of race lovers and fun lovers witnessing the mix combination of speed and style.
The Club would be hosting the running of two additional prize presentation races on the same day, the Horse City Trophy and UPBH Platinum Trophy.
