The first meeting of the double header this weekend started off with a B Pinheiro double early in the day with Captain Legacy for trainer, K Ananthen, in Race 1 and followed up in Race 2 aboard Bucephalus for trainer Simon Dunderdale. Both races suited his rides perfectly on Track 2. The consensus seemed to be that horses that were able to settle in the first third of the field, were the ones quickening up the best when turning for home.

This was followed up in the next race, on the short course, which was a hard fought win by TAU KEH SOH for the F Maynard stable. Tipping Point had gone to the front with the winner settling on the heels of the early pace setters but almost had no luck in running going past the final 200m. Apprentice, A Nazir, angled his ride towards the inside when a gap opened up and he was able to produce a top class ride in the closing stages to fight it out and win.

The tide started to turn as soon as the racing changed to the Long Course and suited runners coming from well off the pace. 3 MIEJ was the first one to confirm this when jumping slow out of the stalls and had a lot of ground to make up heading into the turn. However, AK Lim was able to weave his way through the field, halfway through the turn and the move paid dividends when winning by over 2 lengths for trainer AC LIM.

The big race of the afternoon was the Supreme B over 1600m when GOLDEN PEGASUS came home to win for WC Lim under the hands of jockey, AK Lim who had a race to race double under a similar sort of ride. Golden Pegasus had settled back second last with over 800m to go, but slowly started to shift through the gears and when he was angled to the outside of runners at the top of the straight, there was no stopping him and he won going away in the closing stages. In second, was Golden Payout who returned after a lengthy break and was certainly not disgraced by that effort. One to follow in the future. 

The most convincing winner was in the penultimate race with CHER, who certainly did not want to turn back time, when she won by a margin of 6 1/4 lengths. A Azizi was the winning jockey for trainer, NM Selvan. Recent Singapore import, DARCY closed off the meeting with a winning debut in Malaysia when winning the Class 5B over 1400m for trainer, R Lines and was ridden to victory by S Zulfikri.
