In an effort to encourage the importation of quality young horses into the country and to boost the horse population, the Selangor Turf Club is set to re-launch the 3-Year-Old and 4-Year-Old races after a hiatus of five years. The races were last held at the Club prior to the outbreak of Covid-19 virus.

The 3-Year-Old Race will be sponsored and the race will be named 3-Year-Old Pacific Cup. The 3-Year-Old Pacific Cup and 4-Year-Old race will be staged on Sunday, 23^rd June 2024 and 30^th June 2024 respectively.  The race will be restricted to 3 years and 4 years old horses at the time of running.

The 3-Year-Old Pacific Cup and 4-Years-Old race will be run over a distance of 1200m offering prize money of RM100,000 and RM80,000 respectively. The field is limited to 12 starters and 3 Emergency Acceptors. Runners will be selected by the Panel of Handicappers in accordance to its recent form over appropriate distances.

The race is expected to generate greater interest among racing fans who will witness an elite field of three and four year olds galloping to the finishing line. Notably, the past series have produced some of the best horses seen in this country. 

The effect of the series have been proven to provide more competition and excitement as these horses establish rivalries which fuel competition into their four or five years old careers whereby the level of their fitness and competitiveness increase naturally.
