RACE 1 (R860) CLASS 5 (B) – 1100M (SHORT COURSE)
Acting on veterinary advice that DAYFLIRT (App N Varmah) was lame near fore, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 12:01pm. DAYFLIRT will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.

D’GREAT SPEED (KC Wong) bounded in the air at the start, losing ground.
In the early stages, MIGHTY PHOENIX (R Rueven) raced fiercely.
HAPPY START (R Shafiq) raced wide in the early stages. When questioned regarding this, Jockey R Shafiq stated that he believed that there were horses on his inside and was fearful that the pace may slacken if he attempted to take a position within the field. The Stewards considered that Jockey R Shafiq should have exercised the option of having obtained a trail behind WASHINGTON (AK Lim) instead of travelling wide from the 800M until passing the 600M.
On straightening, SATELLITE GOLDEN (Y Aify) drifted out, carrying D’GREAT SPEED outwards which bumped with WASHINGTON.
A post-race veterinary examination of HERO CHAMPION revealed that it was lame off fore, sustained a cut to its near hind leg, and returned exhibiting signs of respiratory distress and as such will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.

An objection was lodged by Jockey J Daniel (LIMITLESS STOUT), placed third, against BRINGER OF WAR (App CK Khaw), placed second alleging interference between the 200M to the 100M. The Racing Stewards upheld the objection and amended the placing to:

BRINGER OF WAR (App CK Khaw) shifted inwards at the start at the same time as HIGH COUNCIL (App A Suriya) shifted outwards resulting in D’GREAT BOSS (R Shafiq), THANK YOU BOSS (App S Uzair) and TURF PRINCESS (AK Lim) being tightened.
Approaching the 700M, SATTAR eased off the heels of CHINO DINERO (App M Lukman) which in turn caused AUSONE (KC Wong) which was racing between SATTAR and LIMITLESS STOUT, to be eased.
BRINGER OF WAR lay outwards from the 275M and carried TURF PRINCESS outwards with LIMITLESS STOUT (J Daniel) having to be restrained from that mare’s heels at about the 125M. On inquiry, App CK Khaw (BRINGER OF WAR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii).

The Stewards questioned App K Pavinthran (GLAMOROUS), in the presence of his Acting Employing Trainer, BT Lim, with regards to his riding of GLAMOROUS. App K Pavinthran advised that he had been instructed to ride the gelding in a mid-to-forward position and then from its wide barrier, he pushed GLAMOROUS from the start, however, the gelding had commenced to race strongly and he found himself leading by a considerable margin. He continued to attempt to restrain GLAMOROUS but the gelding persisted in racing fiercely. He was further inconvenienced as the saddle on GLAMOROUS had slipped forward and the breast-plate buckle had come undone.
