GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC
RACE 2 (R495) CLASS 5a – 1300M (A4 lc), SUNDAY, 7 MAY 2023, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2023
The Stewards today, Friday, 9 June 2023, concluded the adjourned inquiry into Jockey L De Souza being dislodged from COSMIC SANDS at the 1000M in the above race.
Evidence was taken from App M Ekdihar (KIPEH) and his Employing Trainer, SY Lim, and App S Sia (READYTOSEVENLUCK), and his Employing Trainer, R Lines, and Jockey L De Souza (COSMIC SANDS).
After considering the evidence and incident, the Stewards determined that COSMIC SANDS had pulled up on the inside of KIPEH where there was insufficient room, after that horse rolled off the rail slightly. KIPEH was then held tight by READYTOSEVENLUCK which was on its outside, with KIPEH returning to its former position causing COSMIC SANDS to clip its heels and blunder, dislodging Jockey L De Souza.
No rider was held to blame in this incident.
