2	COLCHESTER (App Clyde Leck)	The whip of rider was struck by a clod of mud causing him to drop his whip near the 150M.
3	D’GREAT WIN (SU Lim)	Stumbled upon jumping.
4	FRIDAY (App R Nuqman)	Slow to begin and threw its head when being restrained off the heels of runner at the 800M. 1 Starting Stall test.
5	ISLE OF SKY (AK Lim)	Jumped inwards at the start.
6	LITTLE MERMAID (S Ruzaini)	Returned cast near hind plate.
7	SILVER JOY (KP Lim)	Bumped runner at the 800M. Raced wide throughout. Vet inspection: No significant finding.
9	SUPREME HAPPINESS (App S Sia)	Shifted in, crowding runner. *(See Report)
10	WASHINGTON (App S Shazmin)	Raced fiercely in the early stages.
11	GIANT KILLING (App A Suriya)	Carried inwards and had to steady near the 800M. Vet inspection: Lame off fore – Vet exam (3 weeks embargo)

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App S Sia, the rider of SUPREME HAPPINESS, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, R Lines, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in approaching the 800M, carrying GIANT KILLING inwards causing that horse to be restrained.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App S Sia’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 21 August 2022 and to expire on 27 August 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

1	NORTHERN STAR (SU Lim)	Threw its head down at the start and was slow to begin. Restrained when striding onto the heels of runner near the 75M.

7	UNICORN (App R Nuqman)	Proved difficult to load and slow to begin. 1 Starting Stall test.
9	GOLDEN QUEEN (HS Gill)	Laid inwards when coming off the cutaway near the 400M and then laid inwards over the final 50M.

Trainer HY Cheng (INHERIT) was advised to ensure that he makes application for the correct overweight amount that he requests for a rider to be engaged at.

Shifted in shortly after the start, clipping the heels of runner, blundered and was thereafter ridden rearward. Rider reprimanded for failing to apply sufficient care when shifted across heels. Vet inspection: Cut on the off fore – Vet exam.

Jockey MM Firdaus (STAR BULLET) advised the Stewards that at its previous week, after jumping well, it had showed no pace but he had managed to lead after some time. However today, although instructed to ride a forward race, the gelding had shown no early pace and he pushed it, ridden vigourously from the start, he was of the opinion that the gelding had not appreciated racing week-to-week.

Trainer KC Tiang stated that he was disappointed in the manner in which STAR BULLET was ridden wide and highlighted that the gelding had finished only 7 lengths from the winner. However, given the nature of this performance, he undertook that he would not start STAR BULLET for 3 weeks.

RACE 9 (R974) CLASS 5 (A) – 1300M (C6 LONG COURSE)

This race was run in heavy rain.

2	INVISIBLE (WK Lee)	After jumping awkwardly, was ridden rearward. Rider reported that he was unsighted for a considerable distance.
5	PRESTO (App K Pavinthran)	Raced wide throughout.
6	MEWTWO (KP Lim)	After being slow into stride, was obliged to race wide.
10	TAIL SPIN (App WW Cheah)	Rider fined RM250/- as he was unable to claim any allowance.

The Stewards considered a complaint from the Clerk of Scales related to the conduct of App WW Cheah on weighing out for this race. After taking evidence from App WW Cheah, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, R Lines, and the Clerk of Scales, the Stewards reprimanded App WW Cheah for misconduct in the scales area.

In considering this issue, the Stewards were conscious of the fact that App WW Cheah’s manner was not directed at anyone in particular and that he had not used any abusive or profane words.

The report dated 18 August 2022 (V22/124) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 23 coded urine and 25 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 14 August 2022, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
