FRANCES (L De Souza) dwelt when the start was effected, losing considerable ground. FRANCES will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again.

In the middle stages, SO BEAUTIFUL (CK Khaw) raced wide.

RICHIE RICH (App AB Riduan) was inclined to lay inwards in the straight.

TRINITY FLYING (HS Gill) was crowded when KING WARRIOR (App R Nuqman) shifted in near the 250M when the gelding steadied off the heels of SO BEAUTIFUL.

A post-race veterinary examination of RICHIE RICH revealed that it was lame off fore and as such will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.

RACE 2 (R684)         CLASS 5 (A) – 1250M (LONG COURSE)

LA FAMILIA (Y Aify) bounded in the air at the start, losing ground.

At the start, D’GREAT STRIKE (AK Lim) shifted in, crowding LADY BLA BLA (J Shankar) onto RAINBOW FISH (CK Khaw). D’GREAT STRIKE then tightened ULURU (L De Souza) near the 1100M, causing SMART MASTER (App R Nuqman) to steady. Jockey AK Lim was warned that he must exercise greater caution.

RACE 3 (R685)         CLASS 5 (A) – 1250M (LONG COURSE)

TRINITY UP (HS Gill) was slow to begin and from its wide barrier, raced wide throughout.

Running to the 1000M, DARK WIZARD (J Low), when being steadied, commenced to race fiercely. KUBERA’S CHIEF (App R Nuqman) which was racing behind, steadied from that gelding’s heels and had to be restrained.

ALL WHITE (App Clyde Leck) returned with a small laceration on the near fore pastern. The mare will be required to undergo a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

RACE 4 (R686)         CLASS 4 (B) – 1300M (LONG COURSE)

CHAR KWAY TEOW (App N Varmah) jumped awkwardly and was eased shortly after the start.

WHITE PEACH (App Clyde Leck) was ridden wide throughout.

PACIFIC MYSTICAL (App AB Riduan) tended to lay outwards and was taken across the heels of SUPER BB (AK Lim) near the 150M, and inconvenienced ACROBAT (J De Souza). In this incident, Jockey J De Souza (ACROBAT) lost the use of his whip. App AB Riduan (PACIFIC MYSTICAL) was warned that he must straighten his mounts when they shift.

SUPER BB (AK Lim) laid outwards over the concluding stages.

Jockey AK Lim (SUPER BB) was warned that he must moderate the use of his whip.

RACE 5 (R687)         CLASS 5 (A) – 1400M (LONG COURSE)

The Stewards granted permission for Jockey S Zulfikri (NEWTON) to ride without claiming.

CALM AND TRANQUIL (App WW Cheah) veered outwards at the start, inconveniencing NEWTON.

On straightening, SILENT PRINCE (HS Gill) steadied when CALM AND TRANQUIL shifted out.

CALM AND TRANQUIL and NEWTON raced wide in the middle stages.

GIGANTE DEL ANDRE (App M Lukman) raced erratically in the straight and when shifting in near the 250M, caused SMART WARRIOR (App K Pavinthran) to steady.

App AB Riduan (LUCKY TIGER) was warned for hitting his horse forward of the shoulder.

GIGANTE DEL ANDRE returned having cast its near hind plate.

RACE 6 (R688)         OPEN MAIDEN – 1100M (SHORT COURSE)

WATERMELON (MM Firdaus) shifted out away from JOJU (L De Souza) on jumping and shortly after, inconvenienced I AM DRAGON (App AR Raiyan) which shifted ground and tightened OBSIDIAN (App A Suriya) at the same time as GOLDEN TOUCH (Y Aify) which veered in quickly.

Running to the turn near the 800M, PONTIANAK (App N Varmah) commenced to hang out badly and moved wide on the track. On straightening, App N Varmah managed to take PONTIANAK inwards. In light of the filly’s performance, Trainer MW Teh was advised that PONTIANAK will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again (to the satisfaction of the Stewards), and advised to engage a senior rider on the filly in future.

JOJU was inclined to drift out over the concluding 150M.

A post-race veterinary examination of MORE THAN OIL (App S Uzair) revealed that the gelding bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of PONTIANAK revealed no significant finding.

ELITE CONQUEST (App AR Raiyan) was slow into stride.

HANDSOME BENZ (HS Gill) took the turn into the straight wide.

ZANJABEEL (Y Aify) raced wide throughout.

App AR Raiyan (ELITE CONQUEST) was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the finish.

RACE 8 (R690)         COMBINED CLASSES 2 &3  – 1200M (SHORT COURSE)

The Stewards granted permission for App A Suriya to replace App AB Riduan as the rider of BRINGER OF WAR as the latter was unable to make the carded weight. App AB Riduan was warned that a repetition in future, may lead to a penalty being imposed.

Approaching the 800M, EYE GUY (J Shankar) rolled in for one stride and crowded BUENOS AIRES (AK Lim) which in turn caused HAKUNA MATATA (App R Nuqman) to be restrained on his inside.

BLACK THORN (HS Gill) laid inwards in the straight.

EYE GUY steadied across the heels of TURF PRINCESS (KC Tham) on straightening.

LADY LAKSHMI (J Daniel) veered inwards on jumping, bumping BLUE HAWAII (App N Varmah).

Jockey C Goon (ELITE WATERGHOST) was reprimanded for using his whip in an excessive manner.

A post-race veterinary examination of PEER GYNT (KC Tham) revealed that it returned exhibiting signs of respiratory distress and as such will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.

RACE 10 (R692)       CLASS 4 (B) – 1100M (SHORT COURSE)

PRESTO (App N Varmah) was slow into stride and trailed the field. In light of its poor performance, Trainer C Leck was advised that PRESTO will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again.

HAPPY BUFFALO (S Ruzaini) hung outwards from the 800M, taking the turn into the straight wide and was eased down in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination of HAPPY BUFFALO revealed that the gelding bled and will be barred from racing for a period of six (6) months under MRA Rule 92(5) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

Near the 250M, MADE IN CHINA (L De Souza) rolled out at the same time as ELITE SAINT (HS Gill) shifted in with MADE IN CHINA steadying.

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC

APPEAL BY JOCKEY CALVIN GOON (C GOON) AGAINST THE SUSPENSION OF THREE (3) MONTHS FOR CONTRAVENTION OF MRA RULE 44(10) IMPOSED BY THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS IN CONNECTION WITH HIS RIDING OF RACEHORSE “ATTENTION” IN RACE 9 (R233) CLASS 5 (A) – 1100M (SHORT COURSE), SATURDAY, 27 MARCH 2021, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2020

On 7 April 2021, Jockey C Goon (ATTENTION) was suspended for three (3) months under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. He subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal and applied for a Stay of Sentence, which was granted.

Prior to this, on 18 March 2021, Jockey C Goon (SPIN FIRE) was suspended for six (6) weeks, however he subsequently withdrew his Appeal and served his suspension from 5 May 2021 and expiring on 16 June 2021, both dates inclusive.

Due to the present Covid-19 Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0 restrictions and under the powers of MRA Rule 146(1) & 149(1)(c)&(d), the SLTC Racing Stewards made the following orders:

  1. That the Appeal of Jockey C Goon (ATTENTION) be deferred until it is able to be conducted in person at SLTC.
  2. That the current Stay of Sentence issued on 7 April 2021 be rescinded.
  3. That the penalty of 3-month suspension commences immediately and be served concurrently with his other suspension.
  4. Should such suspension (3 months for ATTENTION) be still in force, when racing at SLTC (or other Malaysian race Clubs) recommences, that a Stay of Sentence be summarily granted to Jockey C Goon to allow him to ride, until such Appeal is determined.

On 15 September 2021, Jockey C Goon subsequently applied to withdraw his appeal for his suspension of three (3) months in relation to ATTENTION. In view of the above, Jockey C Goon has been deemed to have served his suspension of three (3) months from 17 June 2021 to 16 September 2021, both dates inclusive and his deposit will be refunded. 

RACE 1 (R446) CLASS 5 (B) – 1250M (LONG COURSE), SATURDAY, 29 MAY 2021, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2021

On 29 May 2021, Jockey J Low (NOVA DASHING) was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days for careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) with effect from midnight 30 May 2021.

On 15 September 2021, Jockey J Low subsequently submitted a request to the Racing Stewards in order for his 3-day suspension to be set aside due to hardship imposed by the Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0.

After consideration, the Racing Stewards, on 18 September 2021, acceded to his request and deemed that this 3-day suspension be set aside.
