STATE OF TRACK: Soft (Races 1 to 3), upgraded to “Yielding” after the running of Race 3 (Races 4 to 10). Track Two (II)

RACE 1 (R551) CLASS 5b – 1275M (II)

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App Clyde Leck, the rider of UNSHADOWED GENERAL, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Charles Leck, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting in approaching the 700M and causing GOOD WARRIOR to check.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App Clyde Leck’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, his exceptionally good record in regards to this offence and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 29 May 2023 and to expire on 4 June 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 3 (R553) CLASS 4a – 1275M (II)

3	HOUSEHOLD DYNASTY (R Rueven)	Dwelt when the start was effected, losing ground. In light of this, the gelding will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again. Vet inspection: Broken-winded – 1000M/vet & to be reassessed to ascertain whether it requires surgery.
4	ATTENTION (App I Fikri)	Veered outwards shortly after the start and threw its head when being steadied off heels.
6	CHINO DINERO (App M Lukman)	Held tight near the 800M.
8	STEEL CUTTER (App K Pavinthran)	Veered outwards on jumping and raced wide throughout.

The State of Track was upgraded to “Yielding” after the running of this race.

RACE 4 (R554) CLASS 4a – 1175M (II)

2	GENERAL MIX (S Saddam)	Raced extremely wide throughout. Rider reported that he had taken his mount wide in an endeavour to find a more suitable going.
3	DAHEES (B Pinheiro)	Restrained near the 700M. *(See Report)
5	MYO (App WW Cheah)	Stumbled at the start and then shifted in, crowding runners at the 700M. *(See Report)
6	STRAP MARKS (App S Shazmin)	Raced erratically near the 1000M and then was inclined to hang outwards.
8	JIMMY ZAC (R Rueven)	Slow into stride.
10	IRON SAMURAI (Y Aify)	Checked severely when tightened at the 700M. *(See Report). Had to be restrained near the 150M to avoid the heels of a tiring runner.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App WW Cheah, the rider of MYO, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, R Lines, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting in approaching the 750M, crowding DAHEES which had to be restrained and also tightened IRON SAMURAI which had to check severely.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App WW Cheah’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, his previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 29 May 2023 and to expire on 11 June 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

App WW Cheah was examined by the Club Doctor who stood him down from his riding engagements for the remainder of the races today.

RACE 6 (R556) Supreme C – 1075M (II) 2023 KOREA RACING AUTHORITY TROPHY

The Stewards granted permission for App A Nazir to replace App WW Cheah as the rider of TIGRESS as the latter was unable to make the carded weight. App WW Cheah was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 107(10) for failing to make the carded weight.
