LIM’S MASTER (App AR Raiyan) was slow into stride.
At the 1000M, CLOUD SHADOW (S Salee) had to steady when E SUPREME (App A Suriya) shifted in.
Near the 350M, LIM’S MASTER shied outwards away from the whip of CLOUD SHADOW.
E SUPREME was taken out near the 300M when blocked for a clear run and under hard riding, shifted wide on the track. App A Suriya was reprimanded for allowing his horse to drift to this extent.
SHOW THUNDER (App S Uzair) had to be steadied when striding onto the heels of SUNNY (App M Ekdihar) near the 200M when that gelding shifted out marginally.

RACE 4 (R089) CLASS 4 (B) – 1400M (LONG COURSE)
Prior to the correct weight being declared, the Stewards considered a complaint by Trainer WC Lim that his horse, SUPER BB, had been denied a fair start. After reviewing the official patrol film and considering the evidence, it was ascertained that App M Lukman (SUPER BB) had flicked SUPER BB prior to the start with the gelding simply missing the start by a small margin. In view of this, the Stewards deemed that SUPER BB was afforded a fair start and reprimanded App M Lukman for providing what amounted to a false statement.
SHOW HAND (App I Fikri) veered inwards on jumping.
MR EXCHEQUER (MM Firdaus) raced wide throughout.
In the early stages, THE STORM (J Daniel) pulled fiercely.
Near the 300M, SHOW HAND laid in, bumping SUPER BB. SHOW HAND continued to lay inwards causing THUNDERGOD (App AB Riduan) to be steadied near the 100M.
LISBOA STAR (App S Sia) shifted out marginally passing the 75M and brushed THE STORM which shifted out quickly, making contact with SHOW HAND which then veered out.
The Stewards inquired into the manner in which App I Fikri had ridden SHOW HAND over the concluding stages, in particular his use of the whip. After considering that App I Fikri had used his whip on 2 occasions whilst SHOW HAND was inclined to lay inwards and that App I Fikri was having only his 3rd race ride, the Stewards referred App I Fikri for a specific retraining and instructed he would not be permitted to use his whip for another 12 race rides.
FLASH ONE (App WW Cheah) returned with a cut to its off hind leg and will be required to undergo a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

RACE 5 (R090) OPEN MAIDEN – 1500M (LONG COURSE)
COUNTER ATTACK (App Clyde Leck) was slow into stride and raced wide throughout.
UNLIMITED STAR (App WW Cheah) shifted in shortly after the start causing SLEEPY JOE (J Daniel) to be steadied.
SONG RIVER (R Rueven) shifted out passing the 400M when its saddle shifted backwards and carried UNLIMITED STAR out, which had to be steadied and taken inwards to obtain clear running.
Trainer C Leck was questioned regarding the improved performance of OBSIDIAN (App K Pavinthran). He said that he was at a lost to explain the gelding’s improvement as it had been limited in its race performances. He could only suggest that the gelding was fresher in its work having not raced for a month. Further, he was restricted in his working of OBSIDIAN due to some physical and characteristics issues.
A post-race veterinary examination of SLEEPY JOE (J Daniel) which returned with respiratory noises, revealed that it was exhibiting signs of respiratory distress and as such will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.
SONG RIVER returned with a cut to its near hind leg.

RACE 6 (R091) CLASS 3 – 1700M (LONG COURSE)
THUNDER DRAGON (CK Khaw) was slow to begin.
D’GREAT LIGHT (S Salee) and TIME TO HARVEST (App R Nuqman) raced wide throughout.
EYE GUY (App S Uzair) was inclined to lay outwards from straightening, finishing wide on the track.
D’GREAT LIGHT eased outwards to avoid the heels of SHOQEET (MM Firdaus) near the 350M. When questioned regarding the performance of D’GREAT LIGHT, Jockey S Salee advised that he had been instructed to ride the mare handy, however, it had not shown any real pace and he considered that the pace of the 1700M race was particularly quick. He further advised that he had been obliged to take the mare wide in an endeavour to improve its position and it had run on only moderately in the straight. Trainer S Siva concurred with his instructions and advised that the mare had started in this race due to the inavailability of a suitable race and he believed that this was the reason she had been unable to show any early speed.
App M Lukman (BLACK THORN) was warned to ensure that he does not make a celebratory gesture before the finish.
Jockey CK Khaw failed to advice that the saddle on THUNDER DRAGON had slipped backwards mid-race and as such was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 44(11). A post-race veterinary examination of THUNDER DRAGON revealed no significant finding. In light of the poor performance, THUNDER DRAGON will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.
SHOQEET (MM Firdaus) returned having cast its near fore plate.

RACE 9 (R094) CLASS 3 – 1250M (SHORT COURSE)
When entering the track, EMPEROR TAIZONG dislodged Jockey MM Firdaus, galloped a considerable distance, returning to the saddling stall. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of EMPEROR TAIZONG at 4:45pm. EMPEROR TAIZONG will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall (to be ridden unaided) test before being declared to race again.
Running to the 800M, CHOCANTE (L De Souza) shifted in and crowded THE CROWN JEWEL (J De Souza) which in turn bumped the hind-quarters of LONELY BOY (CK Khaw). Jockey L De Souza was warned that his must afford horses on his inside sufficient galloping room.
NOVA VOCAL (App M Ekdihar) raced wide from the 800M until straightening. App M Ekdihar explained that he had wished to shift in, however, had heard several appeals on his inside and had therefore stayed wide.
App A Suriya (SEMANTAN PRINCE) dropped his near side rein near the 200M. As it was a repetition of this issue, App A Suriya was referred for specific training and advised not to accept rides until such time this matter was resolved satisfactorily.
A post-race veterinary examination of HAIRY FIST revealed no significant finding.
A post-race veterinary examination of PREMIUM RUSH revealed that it returned with a cut to its off hind leg. The gelding will be required to undergo a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

RACE 10 (R095) CLASS 5 (A) – 1250M (SHORT COURSE)
INVISIBLE (WK Lee) was tightened between CRU BOURGEOIS (App WW Cheah) and MAJULAH (CK Khaw), losing ground.
INVISIBLE raced wide in the middle stages.
Running to the 850M, MACHUNG STAR (App M Ekdihar) checked severely. It was established that CRU BOURGEOIS had shifted in at this stage, carrying SMART RACER (App Clyde Leck) inwards which tightened FISH BALL (MM Firdaus) causing it to restrain and in turn, MACHUNG STAR had to be checked severely. On inquiry, App WW Cheah, the rider of CRU BOURGEOIS, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, R Lines, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in at the stage.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App WW Cheah’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 24 January 2022 and to expire on 2 February 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
A post-race veterinary examination of FISH BALL revealed no significant finding.
