After considering the statements of the riders who had ridden in the race and also other riders who were declared to ride in later races, the Panel of Stewards, under the provisions of MRA Rule 12(2)(s), abandoned the remainder of the races at 4:02pm.

INQUIRY INTO A REPORT RELATING TO A POST-RACE URINE SAMPLE CODED “31229” TAKEN FROM THE HORSE “THUNDERGOD” WHICH FINISHED THIRD IN RACE 7 ON SUNDAY, 24 JULY 2022 AT THE SELANGOR TURF CLUB JULY MEETING 2022, AND WAS FOUND TO CONTAIN “FLUNIXIN”
The Stewards concluded an inquiry into the above matter on Friday, 12 August 2022 at the Selangor Turf Club. Evidence was taken from Trainer HY Cheng, the Trainer of THUNDERGOD, Mr Lai Jek Shen (Assistant Trainer), Dr Melissa Yeap (Veterinary Surgeon of SLTC) and Dr Chan Sue Hay (Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics).

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration the nature of the drug involved, Trainer HY Cheng’s mitigating factors and previous record. Trainer HY Cheng was fined RM6,000/- and was advised of his Right of Appeal (3:55m).
In addition, in terms of MRA Rule 134(11), THUNDERGOD was disqualified from the race and the placings were amended:
