When questioned, rider advised that he had been instructed to ride midfield, however, the gelding did not respond when vigourous early riding and he subsequently took the turn wide in an attempt to improve his position but the gelding showed no response in the straight. |

He further stated that the gelding was uncomfortable on the track until into the straight, were he able to progress. |

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey WK Lee, the rider of OISIN EXPRESS, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting in shortly after the start and crowding WHY NOT (Y Aify) which in turn shifted ground, causing GOLDEN SARDINE (S Ruzaini) to be restrained and bumped with D’GREAT BOSS (MM Firdaus).
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey WK Lee’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 21 November 2022 and to expire on 27 November 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (5:35pm).

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC
APPEAL BY APPRENTICE JOCKEY CHEAH WEI WEN (APP WW CHEAH) AGAINST THE SUSPENSION OF ONE (1) MONTH FOR CONTRAVENTION OF MRA RULE 44(9)(b)(iii) FOR INCOMPETENT RIDING IMPOSED BY THE PANEL OF STEWARDS RELATED TO HIS RIDING OF RACEHORSE “DRONE” IN RACE 5 (R1067) ON SATURDAY, 10 SEPTEMBER 2022 AT THE SELANGOR TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING 2022
The Selangor Turf Club Appeal Panel heard the above appeal on 2 November 2022 (Wednesday).
The Appeal Panel heard submissions from App WW Cheah and his Employing Trainer, R Lines and the SLTC Chief Stipendiary Steward.
After considering the evidence, the Appeal Panel allowed App WW Cheah’ Appeal, however, issued him with a severe warning and directed that he undergo remedial training at the SLTC Apprentice School. The Appeal Panel ordered the appeal deposit to be refunded.
RACE 12 (R1285) CLASS 5 (A) – 1100M (E SHORT COURSE), SUNDAY, 30 OCTOBER 2022, SELANGOR TURF CLUB OCTOBER MEETING 2022
Trainer AB Abdullah advised that BINELZAAM (M Ewe) had pulled up well but was unable to cope with the choppy “soft” state of the track late in the day. Further, 1100M was too short for BINELZAAM and he would start the gelding in longer distances in future.

The report dated 3 November 2022 (V22/169) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 36 coded urine and 36 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 30 October 2022, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
