When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of GLOBAL ARMY, Mr Nagarajan a/l Supromaniam, Trainer MP Thwaites’ representative, advised that the horse had stumbled at its previous start and although he had instructed that it be ridden in a forward position, it was unable to do so. He was of the opinion that GLOBAL ARMY had got a soft lead although he had instructed the mare to be ridden close to the pace from its outside barrier and was further advantaged by a drop-in-class and again when claiming 3kgs.

RACE 1 (R297) CLASS 5b – 1400M (A lc), SATURDAY, 18 MARCH 2023, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2023
Further veterinary clarification and examination on 21 March 2023 revealed that O’REILLY BAY was diagnosed, on endoscopy, with Respiratory Distress (not EIPH as reported previously) and there were no visible bleeding from the nostrils. O’REILLY BAY will be required to pass a 1000M/Vet test (1 month embargo) before being declared to race again.
