RACE 1 (R001) CLASS 5a – 1275M (II)

1	READY TO SEVENLUCK (App S Sia)	Slow to begin. It was ascertained that when the blindfold was removed, the gelding turned its head when App S Sia attempted to regain his reins and subsequently jumped awkwardly, losing ground. The gelding was then unable to lead and near the 900M, had to be restrained when running onto the heels of a horse. It was then taken wide until straightening. Near the 125M, had to be restrained to avoid heels.
4	MARTIN VJ (App A Suriya)	Veered in sharply near the 225M.
7	ELUSIVE EMPEROR (S Salee)	Steadied at the 225M, taking preventive action to avoid runner which had veered inwards.
9	LIM’S TORPEDO (S Ruzaini)	Raced wide in the middle stages. Tended to shift outwards between the 125M and the 75M.

RACE 2 (R002) CLASS 5a – 1275M (II)

4	SACRED SEA (App A Nazir)	Vet inspection: Respiratory distress – 1000M/vet (1 month embargo)
5	MY GOODNESS (App Clyde Leck)	Slow into stride and was subsequently ridden midfield.
8	MOONGATE FIVE (CK Khaw)	Slow to begin.

The Stewards inquired into App S Sia’s riding of BIG KING in this race. Evidence was taken from App S Sia and his Employing Trainer, R Lines.

After considering the evidence and also reviewing the films of BIG KING, App S Sia pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that in the opinion of the Stewards, his riding in the straight was below the level of vigour expected by the Stewards.

The Stewards took into consideration App S Sia’s guilty plea, good riding record, mitigating factors and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from 2 January 2023 and to expire on 1 February 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 3 (R003) CLASS 4b – 1275M (II)

7	OISIN EXPRESS (L De Souza)	Bumped on jumping.
8	SHANGANI (App A Najib)	Rider reprimanded for failing to control his mount after passing the winning post.
9	ARIF (App S Sia)	Veered inwards at the start, bumping runner.
10	REBORN GENERAL (App H Haikal)	Slow into stride and raced erratically when restrained after being crowded near the 1100M.
11	SELANGOR BABY (App R Nuqman)	Checked and lost considerable ground at the 1100M. On inquiry into this matter, it was considered as a racing incident.

App Clyde Leck who rode his 80^th winner on WINNER’S EUPHORIA in this race, would only be entitled to claim 1kg allowance as from Monday, 2 January 2023.

3	ALCATRAZ (S Salee)	Vet inspection: No significant finding. The Stewards inquired into the riding of ALCATRAZ. *(See Report)
8	SAND BANK (S Uzair)	When the start was effected, bounded in the air, losing considerable ground. In light of its history, the gelding will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again. Travelled wide throughout.
9	SO BEAUTIFUL (S Ruzaini)	Rider broke his whip at the 200M.
10	WINTERFELL (CK Khaw)	Slow into stride. Vet inspection: Lame off fore – Vet exam (2 weeks embargo)

The Stewards inquired into Jockey S Salee’s riding of ALCATRAZ in this race. Evidence was taken from Jockey S Salee and Trainer CC Ooi, the rider and trainer of ALCATRAZ respectively.

After considering the evidence and also reviewing the films of ALCATRAZ, the Stewards found Jockey S Salee guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that in the opinion of the Stewards, his riding failed to satisfy the Stewards due to it being considered that it was inconsistent with his other forms of riding during the day and lack of sufficient vigour particularly in the straight.

The Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Salee’s riding record, mitigating factors and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from 2 January 2023 and to expire on 1 February 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 5 (R005) CLASS 4a – 1075M (II)

3	TRINITY GRACE (SU Lim)	Proved difficult in proceeding to the start. In light of this, the gelding will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall (to be ridden unaided to the start) test before being declared to race again. Raced wide in the middle stages.
4	HAPPY THIRTYNINE (L De Souza)	Vet inspection: Cut near hind hock – Vet exam
7	MENTAL (App K Pavinthran)	Had to be restrained at the 300M when striding onto the heels of runners.

RACE 6 (R006) COMBINED CLASSES 2&3 – 1075M (II)

Trainer KC Tiang was questioned as to the reason KONG FU PANDA was withdrawn belatedly. It was established that he had ascertained the gelding to be inappetant in the morning and had taken its temperature. He subsequently advised the SLTC Veterinary Surgeon and KONG FU PANDA was withdrawn at 10:40am. The Stewards reminded Trainer KC Tiang of his obligation to effect the withdrawal of his horses as soon as practicable.

The Stewards inquired into App WW Cheah’s riding of GALLANT BACK in this race. Evidence was taken from App WW Cheah, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, R Lines and Trainer SY Lim, the trainer of GALLANT BACK.

After considering the evidence and also reviewing the films of GALLANT BACK, the Stewards found App WW Cheah guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that in the opinion of the Stewards:

He restrained GALLANT BACK at the start of the race;
He failed to display any vigour in attempting to make ground in the middle stages – so as to position it “mid-back” – resulting in GALLANT BLACK being in a rearward position.

The Stewards took into consideration App WW Cheah’s riding record, mitigating factors and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months with effect from 2 January 2023 and to expire on 1 March 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
