RACE 1 (R001) CLASS 5 (B) – 1500M (LONG COURSE)
This race was run in rain.
The Stewards granted permission for Jockey Y Aify to replace Jockey A Zaimuddin on GENERAL ORDER as the latter was unable to make the carded weight. Jockey A Zaimuddin was warned that a repetition would lead to his licence being in jeopardy. He was also advised that the embargo of 56kgs was reaffirmed.
E SUPREME (CK Khaw) was slow to begin.
Passing the 1250M, KYO (WK Lee) rolled in, crowding GENERAL ORDER (Y Aify).
Post-race veterinary examinations of FIVE HUNDRED (KC Tham) and MOONGATE GOLD (App M Lukman) revealed that the geldings bled and will each be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

RACE 2 (R002) CLASS 5 (B) – 1500M (LONG COURSE)
HAPPY LUCK STAR (App WW Cheah) jumped awkwardly, losing considerable ground and as a consequence, had to be ridden in a rearward position.
In the early stages, TRUMPS UP (App I Fikri) raced wide.
CONDADO (CK Khaw) laid inwards and had to be straightened on several occasions in the final 150M.
OCEAN ELEVEN (AK Lim) was inclined to drift out over the concluding stages and at the winning post, caused FIRST PASSTHEPOST (App S Shazmin) to bump with TRUMPS UP.
A post-race veterinary examination of SHOW ROYALE (App AB Riduan) revealed that it was lame off fore and as such will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.

RACE 3 (R003) CLASS 4 (A) – 1250M (LONG COURSE)
The Stewards considered a request from Trainer HY Cheng that SOUTHERN MAN (KC Tham) to be withdrawn due to the inclement weather combined with the fact that the one-eyed gelding races with an eye patch. The Stewards acceded to this request and SOUTHERN MAN was withdrawn at 12:55pm.
SHINE SHINE (SU Lim) was slow into stride and trailed the field. In light of the gelding’s performance, Trainer SY Lim was advised that SHINE SHINE will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.
DIAMOND SET (J Daniel) veered inwards sharply at the start, bumping heavily with JABBAR (AK Lim) which in turn bumped LEO (CK Khaw). As a result, JABBAR had to be ridden off the pace.
JABBAR raced erratically in the straight.
FIRST LIGHT (L De Souza) raced wide throughout, taking the turn into the straight wide. FIRST LIGHT returned having cast its near fore plate.
When blocked for a run at the 150M, LARSON (App S Uzair) was taken inwards. App S Uzair was fined RM250/- under MRA Rule 41(6)(c)(i) for using his whip forward of the shoulder.

RACE 4 (R004) CLASS 5 (A) – 1500M (LONG COURSE)
SHA NA NA (J De Souza) and MEWTWO (HS Gill) raced wide in the middle stages.
When making ground quickly in the straight, VALUE OF JUSTICE (SU Lim) was inclined to lay inwards.
A post-race veterinary examination of ATLANTIC ARROW (Y Aify) revealed that the gelding bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
MONDAY (App R Nuqman) returned with a cut to its near hind hamstring.
MEWTWO (HS Gill) returned having cast its off hind plate.

D’GREAT MAGIC (J Shankar) fly-jumped at the start, losing ground.
BALOR (App M Ekdihar) veered outwards at the start.
In the early and middle stages, QIJI LOVE (Y Aify) raced wide.
HAVANA (J Daniel) was impeded for a clear run on several occasions over the final 100M.

RACE 6 (R006) CLASS 4 (A) – 12500M (LONG COURSE)
READY TO GOODLUCK (L De Souza) was slow into stride and raced fiercely in the early stages, having to be restrained off the heels of other runners near the 1000M.
THANK YOU BOSS (J Daniel) was obliged to race wide in the early stages.
At the 400M, BAADSHAH (App S Uzair) struck the running rail and veered outwards on the track, collapsing. It was ascertained that BAADSHAH had bled and expired.
Near the 300M, FIRST PRECINCT (J De Souza) was held up when LIM’S PERSHING (App AB Riduan) shifted inwards.
LIM’S PERSHING returned having cast its near fore plate.

RACE 7 (R007) OPEN MAIDEN (WFA) – 1200M (SHORT COURSE)
An objection was lodged by Jockey HK Cheng (TALENTED) placed third, against WISHUPONASTAR (Jockey HS Gill), being declared the winner, alleging interference at about the 150M. The Panel of Stewards dismissed the objection.

SIEW YUK (C Goon) was slow into stride.
At the 700M, ZAZU (App S Uzair) struck the heels of THE SWAN (J Shankar) when that mare shifted out. On inquiry, Jockey J Shankar, the rider of THE SWAN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting out at this stage.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey J Shankar’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) SLTC race days with effect from 15 January 2022 and to expire on 22 January 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
WISHUPONASTAR was inclined to lay inwards over the final 150M.
WISHUPONASTAR shifted in passing the 100M causing TALENTED to check and brush with RINGS OF FIRE (Y Aify). On inquiry, Jockey HS Gill, the rider of WISHUPONASTAR, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting out at this stage.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey HS Gill’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 3 January 2022 and to expire on 15 January 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 8 (R008) CLASS 3 – 1100M (SHORT COURSE)
TRUE FRIEND (HS Gill) threw its head up on jumping, losing considerable ground.
TIME TO HARVEST (App R Nuqman) raced fiercely in the early stages and had to be restrained when striding onto the heels of TRINITY GENERAL (SU Lim) at the 1000M when that gelding shifted out after over-racing.
An inquiry will be held on Jockey AK Lim’s riding of ROCKET PEGASUS in the straight at 2pm on Wednesday, 5 January 2022.

D’GREAT EFFORT (App M Lukman) raced wide throughout.
The saddle on CHIEF OF ARMY (App AB Riduan) slipped backwards considerably, placing App AB Riduan at a disadvantage.
A post-race veterinary examination of STREET BLADE (J Shankar) revealed no significant finding.
I AM BEAUTIFUL (J De Souza) returned having cast its near fore plate.

RACE 12 (R012) CLASS 4 (B) – 1250M (SHORT COURSE)
JIMMY ZAC (Y Aify) dislodged Jockey Y Aify on the way to the start. JIMMY ZAC was subsequently withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 5:50pm when it was ascertained that Jockey Y Aify was indisposed. JIMMY ZAC will be required to pass a test (1 Starting Stall, to be ridden unaided to the start) before being declared to race again.
VAIN TYCOON (App AB Riduan) was fractious in the stalls, kicking out, and jumped awkwardly with App AB Riduan striking his right leg on the outside gate. Before returning to the paddock, App AB Riduan dismounted, was examined by the Club Doctor and was exempted from weighing in acting under MRA Rule 121(1). He was subsequently transported to hospital for further observation.

App WW Cheah (UNLIMITED STAR) who lodged an appeal against his suspension of two (2) Malaysian race days for careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii), applied to withdraw his appeal on 27 December 2021. After consideration by the Appeal Panel, his application was acceded to, and his deposit was refunded. His suspension will commence on 2 January 2022 and to expire on 8 January 2022, both dates inclusive.
