Running to the 800M, JUBILATION (App N Varmah) which was racing fiercely, had to be steadied.
SMART MASTER (SU Lim) raced wide in the middle stages.
After racing wide from the 800M, HAPPY GHOST (App A Zaimuddin) was inclined to lay inwards in the straight and on several occasions, shifted in quickly when struck with the whip. Near the 150M, HAPPY GHOST had to be restrained outwards from the heels of WHAT and this inconvenienced LINCOLN CITY (Y Aify) which veered out onto SMART MASTER. App A Zaimuddin was advised that he should exercise greater care and consider changing his whip when his horses are shifting ground.
Jockey R Rueven (GOLDEN COIN) reported that the gelding was uneven in his action.
A post-race veterinary examination of GOLDEN COIN revealed that it was lame near fore and as such will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.

RACE 5 (R477) CLASS 3 – 1300M (SHORT COURSE)
SELANGOR STAR (HS Gill), GYARADOS (C Goon) and GOOD NEWS (KC Wong) were slow into stride.
Passing the 1200M, LIM’S PERSHING (SU Lim) commenced to race fiercely and shifted out, inconveniencing FUSION POWER (J Low). SORBETA (App L De Souza) which was following, was taken wide.
CHINO DINERO (App M Lukman) shifted out near the 150M, carrying RACE FOR FAME (Y Aify) outwards.
Near the 100M, SORBETA steadied when FUSION POWER shifted in.
RACE FOR FAME shifted in over the final 100M.
App M Lukman (CHINO DINERO) was questioned regarding the use of his whip and was advised that in the opinion of the Stewards, it bordered on excessive. He was referred to remedial training related to the use of the whip.
When questioned regarding the performance of GYARADOS (C Goon), Jockey C Goon advised that the mare had not raced since November last year and had shown no early pace. He suggested that GYARADOS was unsuited by the up-in-class but also that he was disappointed in the mare’s performance. Trainer SY Lim confirmed this statement and added that the barrier was against the mare and he considered being over further ground.

After being loaded, MAYBE (J Shankar) kicked out in the stalls and was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon who passed the gelding fit to race. MAYBE was slow to begin.
MAZANZE (S Salee) raced wide throughout.
At the 400M, App M Lukman (YULONG HONOR) dropped his whip after he accidentally struck the saddle cloth of MAZANZE.
NEVERTHELESS (AK Lim) dipped at the winning post. Jockey AK Lim was questioned regarding his riding of NEVERTHELESS. He stated that he had been instructed to ride the gelding sparingly with the whip as it was inclined to race reluctantly. He was also of the opinion that NEVERTHELESS was reluctant to take the run and he had ridden the mare with a good contact. Whilst accepting this in part, the Stewards advised Jockey AK Lim that he must ride every horse so as to confirm that he had ridden in a positive manner.

MURDOCH (J Low) raced wide in the middle stages.
JJ STAR (Z Zuriman) raced wide in the middle stages. Jockey Z Zuriman (JJ STAR) was questioned as to the reason he had ridden in this manner, by being four-wide in the leading division for the entire race. He could offer no explanation other than that he did not wish to be blocked. In considering the issue, the Stewards was satisfied that they could substantiate a charge in terms of the rule, however, Jockey Z Zuriman was reprimanded for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards and advised that he is expected to ride diligently in every race.
A post-race veterinary examination of HAPPY BUFFALO (C Goon) revealed that the gelding bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
App A Zaimuddin (SHELLOMADA) will be interviewed regarding his whip use on that gelding.

As a safety measure, he had steadied when striding onto the heels of BLUE EYED BOY.
