RACE 1 (R1536) CLASS 5 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
Trainer WC Lim was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to confirm whether Jockey SU Lim was available prior to declaring him on POLO MASTER. POLO MASTER was declared a non-runner by the Stewards on compassionate grounds at a later stage.
JUST DUIT (S Sandana) jumped inwards on leaving the gates and brushed STREET CHAMP (M Zairi) which was slowly into stride as a consequence.
At the 1000M, ASTRO MAN (L Sofhan) was awkwardly placed on the heels of HEAVENLY GIFT (Z Khairil).
Between the 500 and the 400M, ASTRO MAN was disappointed for a run on the heels of HEAVENLY GIFT.
Approaching the 400M, JUST DUIT was forced to switch wide out to obtain clear running.
Between the 300M and the 100M, HEAVENLY GIFT was disappointed for a run on the heels of RAINBOW CENTRE (App AK Lim).

RACE 2 (R1537) CLASS 5 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
TOTO 4D STAKES
OLLIE EAGLE (SU Lim) was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon at the request of the rider and was passed fit to race.
ZION SPLENDOUR (SS Vanan) was forced to race wide into the straight.
At about the 900M, D’GREAT ELEGANCE (J De Souza) threw its head up in response to being crowded by OLLIE EAGLE.
BIRRALEE ROAD (S Salee) was forced to race wide from the 800M.
Approaching the 600M, DANE’S ANATOMY (S Sandana) had to be eased off the heels of MONTE CARLO (F Yap).
The Stewards questioned Jockey Z Khairil and Trainer LN Danis the rider and Trainer of MANMADHAN respectively regarding the mare’s disappointing performance today. Jockey Z Khairil reported that MANMADHAN was slightly slow to jump resulting in him being placed further back in the field. He further added that the mare was disappointing in the straight. Trainer LN Danis stated that he was disappointed with the mare’s performance today especially in light of its win in its previous start and an encouraging recent Barrier Practice. A post-race veterinary examination of MANMADHAN revealed no significant finding. The mare was impounded.
ENDURANCE (App CK Khaw) raced in rear before making late progress. An inquiry into the running and handling of ENDURANCE will be held at a date to be fixed.

RACE 3 (R1538) CLASS 5 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
TOTO 4D JACKPOT STAKES
App W Faizal, the rider of SHARON’S STAR, in the presence of his Master, Trainer L Moy, was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 41(6)(c)(i) for hitting his horse forward of the shoulder.
AUGUSTA (R Shafiq) was very slow to begin and lost several lengths. When questioned, Jockey R Shafiz reported that AUGUSTA lost concentration in the barrier and commenced to lay against the right side of the barrier just before the gates opened. AUGUSTA will be required to pass a 1000M/vet (from the starting stall) test before being declared to race again.
ELHAAME (Z Khairil) over-raced in the early stages.
Approaching the 300M, PURE RABID (A Nawawi) was switched inwards to obtain a clear run, however was crowded between the 300M and the 200M, was crowded for room between LIM’S RANGER (HS Gill) and ELHAAME (Z Khairil).
The Stewards questioned Trainer SB Tan into the improved performance shown by the winner, PANCA DELIMA (App L De Souza). Trainer SB Tan stated that PANCA DELIMA was better suited by today’s 1200M distance than the 1400M distance in its last start. He also added that in its last start, it was resuming under a 3-month spell and lost a shoe during the race.

RACE 4 (R1539) INITIATION – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
SUPREME TOTO 6/58 STAKES
WHAT (I Saifudin) shied and stopped dead on the way to the start, then reared, dislodging its rider. Thereafter WHAT bolted to the start and was apprehended behind the barrier. The gelding was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to race. WHAT will be required to pass a 1000M/vet (from the starting stall, to be ridden unaided to the start) test before being declared to race again.
At about the 1150M, SOON YOU THINK (A Nawawi) commenced to hang inwards causing ONCE A THIEF (App S Uzair) to be taken inwards at about the 1100M and made contact with WHAT (I Saifudin) which threw its head up in response and commenced to race greenly.
Approaching the 1000M, WHAT again threw its head up in response to RUN BABY RUN (App WK Lee) laying in and threatening to crowd him.
Just inside the 200M, App S Uzair, the rider of ONCE A THIEF, lost the use of his right stirrup iron in response to the gelding stumbling and was unable to recover it before the finish. When questioned, App S Uzair, in the presence of his Master, Trainer L Moy, stated that ONCE A THIEF veered right and stumbled in response to SANGKURIANG (R Shafiq) laying out towards him. The Stewards informed Trainer L Moy that they will continue to monitor the suitability of the rides accepted by App S Uzair due to his limited riding experience.
RUN BABY RUN raced greenly in the straight.
All riders returned to scale an average of 1/2kg to 1kg overweight due to the adverse weather conditions.

RACE 5 (R1540) CLASS 4 – 1400M (LONG COURSE A)
STAR TOTO 6/50 STAKES
Trainer SY Lim was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on LION CONQUEROR.
This race was rescheduled to start at 2:25pm due to a rain shower.
POWERFUL FIGHTER (J De Souza) was slow to find its stride.
LINCOLN’S EXCUSE (Z Khairil) over-raced without cover in the early stages.
MIROTIC (App WK Lee) hung out approaching the 500M and finished wide out. MIROTIC was also observed to have raced greenly in the closing stages.
Approaching the 500M, JUBILATION (App KC Wong) was forced to switch wide out to obtain clear running and thereafter commenced to lay in at about the 400M causing its rider to ease and straighten briefly approaching the 200M.
KABALI (App M Hanif) raced well-back in the field and from the 400M to the 200M, laid in under pressure and thereafter was forced to switch out to the outside of LION CONQUEROR to obtain clear running at about the 150M. App M Hanif, the rider of KABALI, reported that his horse did not act in the going. The Stewards will hold an inquiry into the running and handling of KABALI at a date to be fixed.
LINCOLN’S EXCUSE (Z Khairil) was switched out to obtain clear running at about the 400M and finished wide. When questioned, Jockey Z Khairil stated that he did not take an available gap directly in front of him as he did not wish to start his finishing effort too early. The Stewards opened an inquiry into the running and handling of LINCOLN’S EXCUSE and adjourned it to a date to be fixed.
NOVA CANO which was beaten 24 1/2 lengths, will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again for having a poor performance.

POWER TOTO 6/55 STAKES
PACHELBEL’S CANON (Z Khairil) was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon at the request of the rider and was passed fit to race.
TRIPLE ONE STAR (J De Souza) slipped on jumping and was slightly away as a consequence.
HIGH TROJA (J Mallyon) was slowly into stride.
SHELLOMADA (HS Gill) was forced to ease approaching the 500M and switched left to obtain clear running to the inside of LEE BANK (SS Vanan).
PERFECT PEARL (App KC Wong) was forced to race wide throughout.

RACE 7 (R1542) SPORTS TOTO SUPREME CHALLENGE CUP 2017
– 1400M (LONG COURSE A)
At about the 1350M, REBEL FURY (Lou Ho) and BADCOE (SS Vanan) were crowded on the inside of Q NINE MAGIC (App J Daniel) which laid in. The Stewards held an inquiry into this incident and as a result of this inquiry, warned App J Daniel, in the presence of his Acting Master, Trainer KF Coetzee, that in future he must show greater awareness of horses on his inside shortly after the start.
At about the 1150M, JERAM VILLAGE (S Sandana) and GHOST EMPEROR (App P Haris) were tightened for room on the inside of KEEN DRAGON (Z Khairil) which shifted in. The Stewards will hold an inquiry into this incident at a date to be fixed.
At about the 1000M, ROSELLI (App W Faizal) shifted in abruptly, leaving KEEN DRAGON awkwardly placed on its heels. As a consequence, KEEN DRAGON was eased to avoid the heels of ROSELLI and MR ARMSTRONG (J Mallyon) was forced to check off the heels of KEEN DRAGON.
KEEN DRAGON was forced to switch wide out approaching the 500M to obtain clear running.
At about the 400M, ROSELLI was switched out wide to obtain a clear run but thereafter laid out in response to the jockey using the whip in his left hand and continued wide.
At about the 300M, GHOST EMPEROR (App P Haris) was switched left to obtain a clear run and thereafter commenced to lay in causing MR ARMSTRONG to be taken inwards in response.
Approaching the 200M, Jockey S Sandana, the rider of JERAM VILLAGE, dropped his whip while attempting to switch it from his right to the left hand. Jockey S Sandana was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a).
In the last 200M, MR PAULANDRE (App S Saddam) laid out under pressure.
App S Uzair, the rider of STICK SEEKER, reported that his saddle slipped backwards in the straight

RACE 8 (R1543) CLASS 4 – 1400M (LONG COURSE A)
TOTO 6D STAKES
ONE FOR ALL (Z Khairil) was slowly away but soon recovered into a midfield position.
SILVER VICTOR (App WK Lee) and BIG PARIS (HS Gill) brushed into each other on jumping.
TARZAN (App W Faizal) was slowly away and jumped inwards causing CHIPS (App KC Wong) to be crowded between TARZAN and SILVER VICTOR, which had shifted outwards as a result of an earlier contact with BIG PARIS. As a consequence, CHIPS became unbalanced and lost his position.
LISBOA STAR (J De Souza) and SILVER VICTOR, which both took forward positions, both over-raced in the first half of the race.
BEIJING STAR (App AK Lim) laid out under pressure and finished wide out.
PICASSO which was beaten 23 lengths, will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again for having a poor performance.

RACE 9 (R1544) CLASS 5 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
SNOW DANCER (Lou Ho) jumped out awkwardly to the right and made contact with DETERMINE TO WIN (SU Lim) and then became unbalanced, making contact with UNION JAC (Z Khairil).
D’GREAT OPULENT (F Yap) laid in under pressure between the 400M to the 200M.
From the 150M, WILL BE BETTER (App AK Lim) commenced to lay out under pressure causing the rider to put down his whip to straighten his mount in the last 3 strides thus avoiding contact with UNION JAC.

RACE 10 (R1545) CLASS 5 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
TOTO 5D STAKES
In the first few strides, AUSSIE EAGLE (App AK Lim) laid in and brushed SCOTTIE (Z Khairil).
Approaching the 1000M, SCOTTIE was over-racing and shifted out abruptly taking KING OPERA (SS Vanan) out onto RED SAPPHIRE (J De Souza) which was pushed out in response and bumped MILITARY STAR (HS Gill).
At about the 1000M, DELTA WING (App KC Wong) shifted out at the same time as KING OPERA shifted in causing AUSSIE EAGLE to be tightened between them and to take a check. The Stewards established that no particular rider was to be blamed for this incident and as such deemed it as a racing incident.
At about the 400M, FRENCH VINTAGE (App T See) was switched out for a run and AMAZING (F Yap) was forced wide in response. The Stewards showed App T See the vision of this incident and warned him the he must show greater awareness of horses on his outside when performing a similar maneuver under similar circumstances in future.
At about the 150M, GOOD MUMMY (App L De Souza) was switched inside to obtain clear running and thereafter finished well under apparent tender handling. An inquiry into the running and handling of GOOD MUMMY will be held at a date to be fixed.

RACE 11 (R1546) CLASS 5 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
EMPEROR WARRIOR (SU Lim) jumped inwards causing CHINESE SILHOUETTE (App S Uzair) to lose its position.
At about the 1100M, SKYHAWK (J De Souza) commenced to hang in, crowding SPIRIT OF SPEED (App T See), made contact and was turned inwards causing SPIRIT OF SPEED to be checked. The Stewards held an inquiry into the incident and as a result, warned Jockey J De Souza that in future he must take all possible and permissible measures to allow space on horses to his inside.
D’GREAT LEGION (App L De Souza) was slowly away and was urged to obtain a forward position, however, found herself with insufficient room on the inside of EASTWOOD (App WK Lee) and was forced to ease approaching the 1000M.
EASTWOOD laid out under pressure in the last 200M.

RACE 4 (R1462) CLASS 4 – 1600M (LONG COURSE A) NHS DRESSAGE STAKES, SUNDAY, 19 NOVEMBER 2017, SELANGOR TURF CLUB NOVEMBER MEETING 2017
App P Haris, in the presence of his Master, Trainer BT Lim, was shown the vision of his ride on SHELLOMADA and was warned by the Stewards that in future he must improve his ability to ride a vigorous finish.
STIPENDIARY STEWARDS’ REPORT – TUESDAY, 21 NOVEMBER 2017
RACE 11 (R1469) CLASS 5 – 1400M (SHORT COURSE A), SUNDAY, 19 NOVEMBER 2017, SELANGOR TURF CLUB NOVEMBER MEETING 2017
The Stewards, on 21 November 2017 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into an incident at about the 100M in the above race. Evidence was taken from App AM Aizat, the rider of D’GREAT OPULENT, in the presence of his Master, Trainer F Maynard who is also the Trainer of D’GREAT OPULENT, Jockey J De Souza, the rider of SANDY’S PRIDE, and Jockey SU Lim, the rider of EMPEROR WARRIOR.
App AM Aizat was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that at about the last 100M, he allowed his mount to shift in away from the whip and took corrective measures too late.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App AM Aizat’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. Acting on the provisions of MRA Rule 48(5), the Stewards deferred the commencement of his suspension. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 27 November 2017 and to expire on 16 December 2017, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (2:20pm).
RACE 2 (R1460) CLASS 5 – 1400M (LONG COURSE A), SUNDAY, 19 NOVEMBER 2017, SELANGOR TURF CLUB NOVEMBER MEETING 2017
The Stewards, on 21 November 2017 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into an incident approaching the 1000M in the above race. Evidence was taken from App AK Lim, the rider of OLLIE EAGLE, in the presence of his Master, Trainer WC Lim who is also the Trainer of OLLIE EAGLE. After reviewing the films and considering the evidence tendered, App AK Lim was warned to leave sufficient room for runners on his inside when approaching the bend in future.
The Stewards also concluded an inquiry into an incident at about the 300M in the above race and took evidence from App AK Lim, the rider of OLLIE EAGLE, in the presence of his Master, Trainer WC Lim who is also the Trainer of OLLIE EAGLE.
App AK Lim pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that at about the 300M in the above race, he was too late to straighten his mount which shifted out under pressure, causing interference to EASTERN TOWKAY (App CK Khaw).
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App AK Lim’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 22 November 2017 and to expire on 26 November 2017, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (2:35pm).

The Stewards, on 21 November 2017 at the Selangor Turf Club, continued an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the start and the running and handling of SPLENDOR in the race. Evidence was taken from App S Uzair, the rider of SPLENDOR, in the presence of his Master, Trainer L Moy who is also the Trainer of SPLENDOR. App S Uzair was assisted in translation by Syce Suny Bin Jainis (S.483), an employee of Trainer L Moy. App W Faizal who had previously ridden SPLENDOR in all its races and Official Race Trials, attended at the request of the Stewards, as did App WK Lee, the rider of LIM’S ADMIRAL, and Dr Silamban Subbarao, the Chief Starter. The Stewards adjourned the inquiry for further investigations to take place regarding this matter.
Amendment
WEDNESDAY, 15 NOVEMBER 2017, SLTC TRACKWORK
Trainer L Moy was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for galloping VALENTINE BABY (Y222) and an Unnamed horse on the heath track during the above trackwork, which is contrary to Track Regulations.

RACE 11 (R1469) CLASS 5 – 1400M (SHORT COURSE A), SUNDAY, 19 NOVEMBER 2017, SELANGOR TURF CLUB NOVEMBER MEETING 2017
The Stewards, on 28 November 2017 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into the reasons why App KC Wong, the rider of BARKER ROAD KID, appeared to ride with less vigour in the last 100M after taking the lead in the above race. Evidence was taken from App KC Wong, the rider of BARKER ROAD KID, in the presence of his Master, Trainer KL Chong.
App KC Wong was found guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(6) for failing to ride his horse out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge were that:
- At approximately the 100M, he commenced to ride with less urgency and stopped using his whip.
- In the last 100M of the race, when BARKER ROAD KID was in the lead, he looked over his left and right shoulders on several occasions rather than focusing on maintaining his horse’s momentum.
- Between the 100M and the last 3 strides, he pushed BARKER ROAD KID with less vigour than previously, thus failing to maintain the horse’s momentum.
- When he did start to push with his full strength again, it was too late to recover the momentum of BARKER ROAD KID, being in the last 3 strides of the race.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App KC Wong’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months with effect from 29 November 2017 and to expire on 28 March 2018, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (2:50pm).
App KC Wong subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal and applied for a Stay of Sentence. The Stewards considered the application for a stay which was allowed. The Appeal will be held at a date to be fixed.

Further evidence was taken from App S Uzair, the rider of SPLENDOR, in the presence of his Master, Trainer L Moy who is also the Trainer of SPLENDOR. App S Uzair was assisted in translation by Syce Suny Bin Jainis (S.483), an employee of Trainer L Moy. App W Faizal who had previously ridden SPLENDOR in all its races and Official Race Trials, also attended at the request of the Stewards.
The Stewards also concluded their investigation into the reasons for App S Uzair being declared to ride SPLENDOR when the gelding’s established regular rider, App W Faizal was available. In this matter they were satisfied with the explanations and supporting evidence provided by Trainer L Moy and Mr CS Tan, the owner of SPLENDOR.
However, Trainer L Moy was found guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 35(5) which relates to the Trainer’s responsibility to give adequate instructions to the riders of their horses in every race to ensure that every horse is raced on its merit.
The particulars of the charge were that:
- He failed to give adequate instructions to App S Uzair about how to react if SPLENDOR had a bad jump.
- By his own admission, he did not allow for the possibility that SPLENDOR would repeat his difficult manners at the jump as demonstrated on the 15th and 29th of August 2017 in the gelding’s Official Race Trials and Practices.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Trainer L Moy’s mitigating factors, previous record, submissions on penalty, and his responsibilities as the Master of App S Uzair. He was fined RM5,000/- and advised of his Right of Appeal (3.30pm).
The Stewards warned App S Uzair that in future he should ride his mounts in a manner that leaves no room for query, even if they forfeit ground at the start. They also informed him in the presence of Trainer L Moy, his Master, that until further notice, he will only be allowed to accept mounts that the Stewards deem to be suitable for him.
TUESDAY, 28 NOVEMBER 2017, SLTC OFFICIAL BARRIER TEST / PRACTICE
SACRED SPIN sustained an injury, fell and failed to complete its Barrier Test. The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SACRED SPIN had fractured its shoulder and spine, and was subsequently euthanized.
VALBERRY which broke through the gates, was withdrawn from its Barrier Practice by order of the Stewards. VALBERRY will be required to pass a 1000M/vet (from the starting stall) test before being declared to race again.

The report dated 24 November 2017 (V17/126) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 34 coded urine and 36 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 19 November 2017, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
