DAY 1, SATURDAY – 3RD SEPTEMBER 2022
STATE OF TRACK: Race 1 to 4 – SOFT, Race 5 to 7 – YIELDING

RACE 1 (R1039) CLASS 5(A) – 1400m (lc) CHENDEROH LAKE HANDICAP
GOLDEN SHOW and WINNING SMILE both are course scratching. GOLDEN SHOW had sustained a bruised near knee while WINNING SMILE had sustained bruised both fore cannons. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Upon loading, MARTIN VJ was leaning badly at the starting stall, resulting in Jockey K Eirwan having to dismount. MARTIN VJ was re-loaded and again was leaning badly to its left side and as such, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 1.18pm. The gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
RULE THE WORLD (HS Gill) which stood and was slow to begin, losing several lengths, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
CHERISH (L De Souza) was slow into stride.
D’GREAT OCEAN (SU Lim) shifted out from the whip at the later stages.
Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey SU Lim, the rider of D’GREAT OCEAN placed 2nd against STAGESHOW (App S Hafis), being declared the winner on grounds of alleged interference in the straight. After considering all the evidence and reviewing the video, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race. The objection was overruled and the Judges’ results stood.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of LUCK HAPPY reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of LUCK HAPPY revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of CHERISH revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer Evert van Breukelen was questioned with regards to the improved performance of STAGESHOW today. The only explanation that he was able to offer is that this horse in its previous run had a bad draw and in his opinion, STAGESHOW raced in a small field today. His explanation was noted and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

RACE 2 (R1040) CLASS 5 (B) – 1400m (lc) PEDU LAKE HANDICAP
POWER EXPRESS which was up 16kgs and EMPEROR WARRIOR which was down 20kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
Trainer HY Cheng was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on EMPEROR WARRIOR (App A Saran).
ULURU (Y Aify) which was fractious behind the barrier and was unable to be loaded, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 1.48pm. ULURU will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
EMPEROR WARRIOR jumped awkwardly, brushing the outside gate and was slow into stride.
At approximately the 700M, CHIEF CLERK (SU Lim) steadied off the heels of BLUE EYED BOY (App S Hafis).
POWER EXPRESS (HS Gill) was obliged to race wide on the turn.
App M Ekdihar, the rider of SIX EMPIRE reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SIX EMPIRE revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore and will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BLUE EYED BOY returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 3 (R1041) CLASS 5 (B) – 1400m (lc) RABAN LAKE HANDICAP
FLEDGELING which was up 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
FLEDGELING (App WW Cheah) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
QUEEN FORCE (AM Aizat) jumped outwards, bumping FLEDGELING.
FORTUNE SPIRIT (App A Saran) was inconvenienced at the start when THE JEWELLER (HS Gill) jumped awkwardly outwards.
Approaching the 1200M-mark, SECOND CHANCE (AK Lim) had to steady when inconvenienced by TRAVIS (SU Lim) which rolled inwards.
A post-race veterinary examination of TRAVIS revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer K Coetzee was questioned with regards to the improved performance of THE JEWELLER today. The only explanation he was able to offer was that this horse was drawn well today and in his opinion, it was not the strongest field. His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.
App A Saran, the rider of FORTUNE SPIRIT was charged with a contravention of MRA Rule 121(7) and he was fined RM1,000/- when he weighed in more than 1.5kgs over the weight he weighed out.

RACE 4 (R1042) CLASS 4 (B) -1300m (sc) CHINI LAKE HANDICAP
YES BOSSY (App SN Shiva) was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 2.48pm, when the gelding could not be boxed and will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
TRIPLE ONE STAR (KC Tham) and BRISTOL DIAMOND (HS Gill) were slow into stride.
Shortly after the start, INHERIT (SU Lim) was crowded for galloping room.
A post-race veterinary examination of INHERIT revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer S Deva Raj was questioned with regards to the tactics he used for LAGO DE COMO (AM Aizat) today. He stated that he had instructed Jockey AM Aizat to place this horse in a midfield position if possible. After reviewing the video, he was satisfied that Jockey AM Aizat had endeavoured to carry out his instructions. The Panel of Stewards decided to take no further action.
The state of track was upgraded to ‘Yielding’ after the running of this race.

ASIA, a course scratching as it had sustained skin allergy, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
PROVOCATEUR was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 2.30pm, as the gelding’s status for Equine Influenza/EHV vaccination had expired. Trainer S Deva Raj was fined RM1,000/- in terms of MRA Regulation 20.3.1 as read with MRA Regulation 20.6.
BACH’S AIR (R Rueven) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
CHAR SIEW (App S Hafis) threw its head up on jumping.
YOU ARE GENIUS (App SN Shiva) was slow into stride.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of BACH’S AIR reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of BACH’S AIR revealed no obvious abnormality.

GOLDEN COIN (App WW Cheah) and WINTERFELL (L De Souza) were both examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.
METEOR LOUI (App A Nazir) jumped awkwardly.

Post-race veterinary examinations of NEVERUNCONDITIONAL and METEOR LOUI revealed no obvious abnormality.

DRAGON CAVALLO, a course scratching as it had sustained a mild colic, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
BAKUTEH which was up 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.ELITE SAINT (AM Aizat) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
SEVEN SUNDAE (SU Lim) was slow into stride.
Jockey KC Tham, the rider of VAIN TYCOON was shown the video of his ride and he was warned to ride all his mounts out in a manner so as to leave no room for query.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SUPER SIXTYONE (Y Aify) revealed no obvious abnormality and VAIN TYCOON (KC Tham) revealed that the gelding had returned broken-winded and as such, VAIN TYCOON will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
