STATE OF TRACK: RACE 1 to 4 – SOFT, RACE 5 to 9 – YIELDING

RACE 1 (R0787) CLASS 4(A) – 1200m (lc)
BEAT THE LIGHT, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised near fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Emergency acceptor BALIN was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
Due to the Vet’s failure to endorse the EI vaccination 0status to be current on the equine passport of FA FA STAR (S Hafis) that was done on 10th August 2024 and confirmed by the Chief Veterinary Surgeon of SLTC, the Panel of Stewards treated this case as an exception, and permitted FA FA STAR to start today. However, the Panel of Stewards will not allow horses under similar circumstances to race in future.
FA FA STAR brushed the outside gate on jumping.
ONE ABRACADABRA (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly outwards, unbalancing its rider momentarily.
Passing the 300M-mark, AUTUMN BLITZ (AK Lim) shifted in away from the whip.
LUPIN (HS Gill) and ONE ABRACADABRA were obliged to race wide.
Jockey M Ganeesh, the rider of DOCTOR GINGER reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of DOCTOR GINGER revealed no obvious abnormality and had returned having cast its near fore plate.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that LUPIN that had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of ONE ABRACADABRA revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 2 (R0788) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc)
BULL RUN (R Rueven) jumped awkwardly inward and bumped BANG BINGO (S Ruzaini).
BANG BINGO, EKRAAR PHOENIX (Y Aify) and SHYLOCK (HS Gill) showed no early pace despite being urged.
SOON YOU THINK (S Saddam) and EKRAAR PHOENIX raced wide around the turn.
Passing the 150M-mark, SPEEDY SWALLOW (SU Lim) shifted out over the heels of BINTANG TIMOR (S Hafis) to obtain a clear run.
A post-race veterinary examination of BINTANG TIMOR revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 3 (R0789) CLASS 5(B) – 1600m (lc)
Trainer I Ismadi was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of blinkers on VILLAGE TYCOON (KC Tham) within the stipulated time.
MAGICAL PARK (S Hafis) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.
Shortly after the start, TRINITY HONOR (M Ganeesh) had to steady when tightened for room when BLACK TAIPAN (S Ruzaini) shifted out and THE JEWELLER (S Saddam) shifted inwards.
CIRCUIT STAR (HS Gill) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
MAGICAL PARK was obliged to race wide on the bend.
TRINITY HONOR entered the straight wide and finished the race wide.
Jockey S Hafis, the rider of MAGICAL PARK reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of MAGICAL PARK revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SUPREME SUCCESS (S Salee) and THE JEWELLER revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer I Ismadi was questioned with regards to the improved performance of VILLAGE TYCOON today. He explained that VILLAGE TYCOON was racing with a weaker field and the addition of blinkers had benefited its run today. His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding in-and-out running.

RACE 4 (R0790) CLASS 5(A) – 1400m (sc)
ROCK N ROLL, a course scratching as it had sustained sole bruised off fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
GOLDEN SHOW which was up 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
Due to the Vet’s failure to endorse the EI vaccination status to be current on the equine passport of LANKARAN (App S Shazmin) that was done on 10th August 2024 and confirmed by the Chief Veterinary Surgeon of SLTC, the Panel of Stewards treated this case as an exception and permitted LANKARAN to start today. However, the Panel of Stewards will not allow horses under similar circumstances to race in future.
ULURU (R Narendran) jumped awkwardly inwards.
A post-race veterinary examination of TRAFALGAR (AK Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Jockey M Ganeesh was questioned with regards to his ride on ORDOS LEGEND. He explained that ORDOS LEGEND jumped awkwardly and he was unable to place his mount into the race, as the gelding showed no pace despite being urged. His explanation was noted, however he was advised to ride all his mounts out in a manner so as to leave no room for query.
As Trainer Ms S Hamilton was not on course today, she will be questioned with regards to the improved performance of LANKARAN on a date to be fixed.
The state of track was upgraded to “Yielding” after the running of this race.

RACE 5 (R0791) CLASS 5(B) – 1400m (sc)
CHERISH and USA CAPTAIN both are course scratching. CHERISH had sustained bruised both fore fetlocks whilst USA CAPTAIN had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
ANOTHER SHOW which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
FLAMING DASH (App S Shazmin) and BEIJING STAR (HS Gill) were slow into stride.
ANOTHER SHOW (S Ruzaini) raced wide in the early and middle stages.
Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey KC Low, the rider of YULONG DREAM, placed 3rd against UNLIMITED STAR (S Saddam), being declared the winner on grounds of alleged interference at the 200M-mark. After considering all the evidence and reviewing the video, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race. The objection was overruled and the Judges’ results stood.
App S Shazmin and Jockey HS Gill, the riders of FLAMING DASH and BEIJING STAR respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of FLAMING DASH and BEIJING STAR revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MIGHT IS RIGHT (App N Shahronnizam) and ANOTHER SHOW revealed no obvious abnormality.
At the conclusion of an inquiry today, App Z Syafifie, the rider of MGR ROCKET in the presence of his master, Trainer K Coetzee, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding MGR ROCKET at about the 200M-mark, he persevere using his whip on his right hand, resulting in his mount shifting inwards, carrying UNLIMITED STAR inwards and inconvenienced YULONG DREAM (KC Low) which was racing on the rails.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App Z Syafifie’s guilty plea, riding records and mitigating factors. App Z Syafifie was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days. Acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the Panel of Stewards deferred the suspension to take effect from Monday, 26th August 2024 and to expire on Sunday, 8th September 2024, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his right of appeal (5.40pm).

RACE 6 (R0792) CLASS 4(A) – 1400m (sc) PORDASI GOODWILL CUP 2024
STAR LEGEND, VILLAGE STAR and STRAIGHT N ARROW all are course scratching. STAR LEGEND has sustained off fore frog injury. VILLAGE STAR had sustained sole bruise near fore whilst STRAIGHT N ARROW had sustained a nail prick injury near fore. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
PEER GYNT (KC Low) showed no early pace, despite being urged.
DISCRETELY RED (R Rueven) and GOLDEN LIGHTNING (AK Lim) were both racing keenly in the early and middle stages.
PERFECT MISSION (HK Cheng) was obliged to race wide on the bend.
MAVERICK (SU Lim) entered the straight wide.
Approaching the 100M-mark, NORTHERN STAR (S Ruzaini) was held up behind CAPTAIN PEGASUS (App Z Syafifie) and had to switch out for clear running.
Post-race veterinary examinations of NORTHERN STAR and PEER GYNT revealed no obvious abnormality.

SIVAJI ROCKET, a course scratching as it had sustained a nail bend near fore foot and will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
ELITE SAINT which was up 19kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey Y Aify to replace Jockey R Rueven as the rider of IPOH KAIGEH when the latter was certified unwell.
GREATEST ALL TIME (HK Cheng) jumped awkwardly outwards.
JULIUS CAESAR (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly.
BAKUTEH (S Hafis) was slow into stride and thereafter, showed no early pace despite being urged.
HARVEYWALLBANGER (AK Lim) stumbled at approximately the 1000M-mark.
SECRET AGENT (M Ganeesh) was obliged to race wide on the bend.
Passing the 300M-mark, BAKUTEH shifted in away from the whip.
SECRET AGENT was eased up from the 100M-mark when Jockey M Ganeesh felt something amiss with his mount. A post-race veterinary examination of SECRET AGENT revealed no obvious abnormality. Trainer KF Wong, the trainer of SECRET AGENT was advised to report back to the Stewards, should he finds anything amiss with the gelding during the week. The gelding which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of CAVANA (S Ruzaini) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Emergency acceptor LEGACY FIGHTER was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
KRATOS (HK Cheng) which was unable to be boxed, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 4.20pm and will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
NOVA FACTOR (App P Haris) jumped outwards sharply and had to be straightened.
FAST AND SUPER (App A Nazir) was obliged to race wide on the turn.
NOVA FACTOR was held up from the 150M-mark to the final 50M-mark and had to switch over the heels of BOSSKU (KC Low) for clear running. App P Haris, the rider of NOVA FACTOR in the presence of his master, Trainer K Coetzee was shown the video of his ride over the concluding stages pertaining to his whip use. He was advised to ride all his mounts out in a manner so as to leave no room for query.
App S Shazmin, the rider of ROCK ME EASY reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination of ROCK ME EASY revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of DIGGING EIGHT (Y Aify) and THAI BAHT (S Hafis) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 9 (R0795) CLASS 5 (B) – 1100m (sc)
KUBERA’S CHIEF, AUSSIE EAGLE and NOVA PHOENIX are all course scratching. KUBERA’S CHIEF had sustained swollen both hind legs. AUSSIE EAGLE had sustained sore off fore suspensory ligament whilst NOVA PHOENIX had sustained a bruised near fore sole. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
ALWAYS INNOCENT and JAPAN CAPTAIN which were up 16kgs and 17kgs respectively in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.
ALWAYS INNOCENT (HS Gill) and TILSWORTH MALI (M Ganeesh) were both examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.
On jumping, JAPAN CAPTAIN (S Saddam) and ZAZU (L De Souza) bumped heavily.
THE SWAN (App A Nazir) stumbled on jumping.
KIPEH (S Hafis) was slow into stride.
Passing the 1000M-mark, GENERATION M (SU Lim), ALWAYS INNOCENT and GOOD LUCK CHARM (AK Lim) raced tight.
KIPEH and TILSWORTH MALI raced wide on the bend.
At approximately the 200M-mark, GOOD LUCK CHARM switched outwards and carried TILSWORTH MALI wide.
Jockey HS Gill, the rider of ALWAYS INNOCENT reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of ALWAYS INNOCENT revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of KIPEH revealed that the mare had returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again and LET’S COME ON BABY (S Ruzaini) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer K Coetzee was questioned with regards to the improved performance of JAPAN CAPTAIN today. He explained that JAPAN CAPTAIN was caught wide on the last run. Today, JAPAN CAPTAIN was able to lead without much difficulty and a weaker field contributed to its improved performance today. His explanations were noted.
