RACE 1 (R246) CLASS 5(B) – 1400m(lc)
RUSH and SUPERB SEVEN, both course scratchings as they had sustained a bruised off hind fetlock and cellulitis near fore leg respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
MESSI which was up 20kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
MESSI (R Rueven) and HACKER (App CK Khaw) were both examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.
JETSTAR EAGLE (App S Saddam) stood when the gates were released and was slow to begin.
SIR RALLY (Z Khairil) raced wide from the 700M until entering the straight.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MESSI and D’GREAT ARES (AK Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Jockey AK Lim, the rider of D’GREAT ARES reported that his saddle slipped back during the race.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of MESSI reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of MESSI revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 2 (R247) CLASS 5(A) – 1400m(lc)
GOLD COAST CAPTAIN which was up 17kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
BRISTOL DIAMOND (HS Gill) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
SWIFT (SU Lim) which was difficult to be loaded, was withdrawn by the Panel of Stewards at 1.22pm. The gelding will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.
BRISTOL DIAMOND was slow to begin.
GOLD COAST CAPTAIN (HK Cheng) was slow into stride.
Racing to the 700M, EMPIRE BAY (App CK Khaw) had to be steadied off the heels of TOP TURF (App S Saddam) and raced wide until entering the straight.
GOLDEN CRAFTSMAN (S Muniandy) which was racing greenly, laid in at the 400M and had to be steadied to avoid the heels of CONSENSE (App P Mogun).
Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of THE MILLIONAIRE broke his whip at the 300M.
Post-race veterinary examinations of TOP TURF and OUR RIVER DANCER (S Salee) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of BRISTOL DIAMOND into the improved performance of the gelding today. He explained that BRISTOL DIAMOND was checked after the start at its last race. He further explained that BRISTOL DIAMOND was down in class, had been working well and expected to run an improved race today. His explanations were noted. His attention was drawn to the Rules regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

LADY LIBERTY, a course scratching as it had sustained a float injury, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
GREATBALLS OF FIRE which was down 20kgs and AGUERO which was up 16kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
Jockeys Z Khairil and HS Gill, the riders of ELUSIVE GENIUS and SING DARCI respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of ELUSIVE GENIUS revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and SING DARCI revealed no obvious abnormality.
SING DARCI (HS Gill) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again and the gelding is impounded. ELUSIVE GENIUS (Z Khairil) which returned lame off fore, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.
App S Hafis, the rider of GREATBALLS OF FIRE reported that his saddle slipped forward at the 500M.
Post-race veterinary examinations of OVER LIMITS (HK Cheng) and GREATBALLS OF FIRE revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of SING DARCI into the apparent poor performance of SING DARCI. He was of the opinion that the firmer track may not have suited the gelding today. He could offer no further explanations and was advised to report back to the Panel of Stewards should he finds anything amiss with the gelding during the week. His attention was drawn to the Rules regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

LION CONQUEROR (App S Saddam) jumped away awkwardly and brushed the outside gate.
LION CONQUEROR was very difficult to settle passing the 1400M and bumped LUCK HAPPY (R Rueven) at about the 1300M.
IKING (App L De Souza) and COLORADO PRINCE (KC Wong) brushed at the 400M.
Jockey HS Gill, the rider of SOON YOU THINK reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SOON YOU THINK revealed no obvious abnormality and the gelding was impounded.
SOON YOU THINK (HS Gill) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of DISCRETELY RED (Z Khairil) and PURPLE RAIN LADY (AM Aizat) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of SOON YOU THINK into the apparent poor performance of the gelding today. He could not offer any tangible explanations apart from the firmer track, up in class and that the gelding is more comfortable over longer distance. His explanation is noted. His attention was drawn to the Rules regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

CIZEN, a course scratching as it had sustained a cut to its left knee resulting from a float injury, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
FLASH ONE which was down 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
ONE MORE ACHIEVER (Z Khairil) was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 2.54pm, acting on veterinary advice that the gelding was very fractious and was difficult to be re-loaded. ONE MORE ACHIEVER will be required to pass one starting stall test before being declared to race again.
OUR GENIUS (S Salee) and SUPER ACE (App P Mogun) were slow to begin.
SUPER ACE raced greenly at the 250M and shifted out abruptly and thereafter, continued to race greenly till the end of the race.
EASY LOVER (SS Vanan) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of HELLO SAYANG (KC Wong) and FLASH ONE (R Rueven) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that TH MAXIMS (AK Lim) returned having cast its off fore plate.

LITTLEBITOFJOY (App S Hafis) showed no early speed despite being urged.
Jockey Y Aify, the rider of PROBABLY reported that his mount was not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of PROBABLY and JUSTICE DAY (KC Wong) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that PISCES STAR (App L De Souza) returned having cast its near fore plate.

RAMZES, a course scratching as the gelding is lame off fore, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.
SATELLITE TURBO (Z Khairil) was slow to begin.
App J Daniel, the rider of WHO’S THE BOSS was dislodged on pulling-up and was exempted from weighing-in. The Club Medical Officer stood him down for the remainder of the day.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of GRAND SHOW reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of GRAND SHOW revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of ALL MY EYE (SU Lim), RACE FOR FAME and NAPOLEON (App CK Khaw) revealed no obvious abnormality.
At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of NATURAL WATER pleaded guilty to a charge for careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii), in that passing the winning post on the first occasion, he shifted in when insufficiently clear of RACE FOR FAME (App S Hafis), resulting in RACE FOR FAME having to be checked and lose ground.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey AM Aizat’s guilty plea, disciplinary record and mitigating factors. Jockey AM Aizat was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, to run consecutively to his two (2) Malaysian race days suspension incurred in Race 10 on the 16th February 2019 at SLTC from Monday, 4th March 2019 and to expire on Sunday, 16th March 2019, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his right of appeal (5.15pm).

RACE 10 (R255) CLASS 5(A) – 1200m (sc)
EYEOFTHETIGER which was up 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
The Panel of Stewards permitted App L De Souza to replace App J Daniel as the rider of BOLD PASSION.
Acting on veterinary advice that SUPER DAN (S Sandana) was lame off hind, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 5.28pm. The gelding will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.
CENTURY WORLD (Z Khairil) stood when the gates were released and was slow to begin.
HENNESSY DRAGON (App S Saddam) shifted out on jumping away, resulting in BALL AND CHAIN (S Muniandy) and TOTALITY (HS Gill) bumping. As a consequence, TOTALITY shifted out and bumped POWERFUL STAR (J Chuah).
Racing to the 800M, HENNESSY DRAGON laid out and clipped the heels of TOTALITY, resulting in App S Saddam becoming very unbalanced and was nearly dislodged. After reviewing the video footage of the incident, the Panel of Stewards deemed it as a racing incident and as such, no further action was taken.
NEVERUNCONDITIONAL (KC Wong), CENTURY WORLD and EYEOFTHETIGER (App S Hafis) all raced wide on entering the straight.
The saddle on HENNESSY DRAGON slipped sideward during the race.
Post-race veterinary examinations of CENTURY WORLD and POWERFUL STAR revealed no obvious abnormality and MISS BLANCHETT (App CK Khaw) returned lame off fore. As such, the mare will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

HOLY THOMAS and BARKER ROAD KID which were down 25kgs and 17kgs respectively and ARCHER COMPANY which was up 19kgs in body weight since their last runs, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
The Panel of Stewards permitted App CK Khaw to replace App J Daniel as the rider of HOFFMAN.
LOYALTY’S ANGEL (Z Khairil) shifted out on jumping away and tightened BASTION (S Salee) out onto KING POWER (SU Lim) which had to check.
HOLY THOMAS (App S Hafis) was slow into stride.
LOYALTY’S ANGEL and KING POWER bumped on several occasions between the 1100M and 1000M.
LOYALTY’S ANGEL raced wide from the 800M until entering the straight.
HOLY THOMAS had to be steadied racing to the 200M to avoid the heels of SONIC PLUS (HK Cheng) which was taken in by VICTORY MARCH (KC Wong) which rolled in momentarily.
Post-race veterinary examinations of HOFFMAN (App CK Khaw) revealed that the gelding returned broken-winded and cast its off fore plate, HOLY THOMAS and LOYALTY’S ANGEL revealed no obvious abnormality. HOFFMAN will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

BM POWER (R205) which bled during its barrier test at PNTC on Tuesday, 19 February 2019, will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

PENANG TURF CLUB JANUARY/FEBRUARY MEETING 2019
The report dated 21st February 2019 (V19/018.1) from the Chief Analyst of USains Biomics Laboratory stated that 44 bottles of coded urine samples and 50 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 4th February 2019 for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

PENANG TURF CLUB JANUARY/FEBRUARY MEETING 2019
The report dated 15th February 2019 (V19/019) from the Chief Analyst of USains Biomics Laboratory stated that 4 bottles of coded urine samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 4th February 2019 for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
APPEAL AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS AND RM2,500/- FINE IMPOSED ON MS. ANNA MAREE SCOTT BY THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS UNDER MRA RULE 152(4) IN AN INQUIRY ON FRIDAY, 28 JULY 2017 AT PENANG TURF CLUB INTO THE REASONS THAT SHE FAILED TO ATTEND AN INQUIRY AT THE PENANG TURF CLUB ON 9 JUNE 2017 AND THEN ATTENDED THE PENANG TURF CLUB RACE MEETING ON 10 JUNE 2017 IN HER CAPACITY AS AN MRA TRAINER, WHEN SHE HAD LODGED A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE DECLARING THAT SHE WAS UNFIT FOR THE PROPER PERFORMANCE OF HER DUTIES ON 9 & 10 JUNE 2017.
1. The PNTC Racing Stewards allowed the withdrawal of the above Appeal scheduled for 21 February 2019 at 4.30pm from Ms Anna Scott.
- Ms Anna Scott is advised that her Appeal deposit is forfeited and the RM2,500/- fine imposed by the Stipendiary Stewards remains.
RACE 4 (R120) CLASS 4(B) – 1200m – 1st DAY, SUNDAY, 27th JANUARY 2019 PENANG JANUARY/FEBRUARY MEETING 2019
The Stipendiary Stewards advised Trainer HS Lim and Jockey AM Aizat, the trainer and rider of CASTLE CHOICE respectively that an inquiry into the running of CASTLE CHOICE will be held at a date to be fixed.
