RACE 1 (R 619) CLASS 5(A) – 1400m (lc) PULAU JERAJAK HANDICAP
EL MACHO, a course scratching as it had sustained an injury in the float, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
D’GREAT DUCHESS (K Eirwan) was slow into stride.
JULIUS CAESAR (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly.
Passing the 400M, LAGO DE COMO (App AR Aiman) switched outwards to obtain clear running.
JULIUS CAESAR which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Jockey J Daniel, the rider of CHERISH reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of CHERISH revealed no obvious abnormality.
When questioned with regards to the improved performance of LAGO DE COMO today, Trainer S Deva Raj was unable to offer any explanations, other than this horse had been working well and its run today had surprised him. His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running. Trainer S Deva Raj was warned that should LAGO DE COMO prove to be inconsistent in future, it may be suspended.
Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of NORTHERN KNIGHT was shown the video of his ride and he was warned that in future, he should ride all his mounts in such a manner to leave no room for query.

LUCK HAPPY and NAPOLEON, both are course scratching. LUCK HAPPY had sustained a bruised near fore cannon. NAPOLEON had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
MY FIRST MILLION (J Low) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
MIEJ (Y Aify) was slowly away.
SNOW DANCER (M Yusri) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Jockey SU Lim, the rider of GOLD KIDS reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of GOLD KIDS revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 3 (R621) CLASS 5 (B) – 1400m (lc) PULAU PERHENTIAN HANDICAP
THE JEWELLER and YOU ARE SPECIAL both are course scratching. THE JEWELLER had sustained a bruised off fore fetlock and YOU ARE SPECIAL had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
POWER EXPRESS jumped awkwardly, bumping the outside gate and almost dislodged Jockey R Rueven and thereafter, raced poorly. As such, POWER EXPRESS will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. In this incident, I’M THE MAN (SU Lim) was inconvenienced.
NOVA DASHING (AM Aizat) was slow into stride.
INTROIT (J Low) jumped awkwardly outwards, crowding BUTCH CASSIDY (J Daniel).
On returning to scale, Jockey R Rueven, the rider of POWER EXPRESS was examined by the Club Medical Officer and was certified fit to continue riding for the day.
IMMORTALITY (M Yusri) and I’M THE MAN which raced poorly, will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of I’M THE MAN revealed no obvious abnormality.
App SN Shiva, the rider of ONCE A THIEF was shown the video of his ride and he was warned that in future, he must make a greater attempt to ride to instructions and furthermore, he must ride in such a manner, so as to leave no room for query, failing which action(s) may be taken against him.

Emergency acceptor QIJI ACHEEVA was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
OUR DYNAMITE which was up 22kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
TRAFALGAR (Y Aify) stumbled on jumping and was slow into stride.
BLOOD ROYAL (CK Tan) was slow into stride.
CHINO DINERO (J Low) had a tendency to lay out from the whip in the straight.
CHINO DINERO which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MACARTHUR (S Saddam) and CHINO DINERO revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 5 (R623) CLASS 4(B) – 1200m (lc) PULAU LANGKAWI HANDICAP
ALWAYS D’GREAT, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised right knee, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Acting on veterinary advice that BILLY MOJO (J Low) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.14pm. BILLY MOJO will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Trainer HY Cheng was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c ) for failing to produce the declared colours on INHERIT (Y Aify).
CHAR KWAY TEOW (SU Lim) switched out over the heels of ACE’S WILD (K Eirwan) at approximately the 150M-mark to obtain a clear run.
App AR Aiman and Jockey R Rueven, the riders of LISBOA STAR and MASTER JIANGMEN respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of LISBOA STAR and MASTER JIANGMEN revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 6 (R624) CLASS 5(A) – 1000m (sc) PULAU RAWA HANDICAP
Trainer Wayne Lim was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on MON ENERGY (SU Lim).
MIGHTY PHOENIX (J Chuah) was slow into stride.
GOLDEN ROOSTER (F Yap) jumped awkwardly outwards, inconveniencing CHAR SIEW (M Yusri), resulting in both these horses being slow into stride.
A post-race veterinary examination of CHAR SIEW revealed that the gelding had returned with a medial cut on its near fore pastern and as such, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

RACE 7 (R625) CLASS 5(A) -1000m (sc) PULAU MABUL HANDICAP
Emergency acceptors SOLID BRISK and SUNTZU were withdrawn due to a capacity field.
HOUSEHOLD DYNASTY which was up 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
CLARTON FORTUNE (CK Tan) which could not be boxed, delaying the start, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 4.26pm. Due to its adverse history, the gelding will be required be required to pass two (2) starting stall tests at weekly intervals before being declared to race again.
Acting on veterinary advice that MIRACLE TIME (R Rueven) and REALITY (App R Nuqman) had sustained a cut to their near hind and off hind respectively, the Panel of Stewards ordered their withdrawals at 4.27pm. MIRACLE TIME and REALITY will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
HOUSEHOLD DYNASTY (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly outwards, inconveniencing GOLDEN BOLD (M Yusri).
The saddle on FABULOUS ONE (J Daniel) slipped backwards during the running.
The Panel of Stewards will hold an inquiry into the running and handling of NEW GARDEN (K Eirwan) at a date to be fixed.

WINTERFELL, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Emergency acceptor KIPEH was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
As there was no suitable jockey available, the Panel of Stewards permitted App SN Shiva to replace Jockey J Daniel, as the rider of BEAUTY THIRTYNINE.
TILSWORTH MALI (CK Tan) jumped awkwardly.
BEAUTY THIRTYNINE (App SN Shiva) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

MAGNITUDE, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
As there was no suitable jockey available, the Panel of Stewards permitted App R Nuqman to replace Jockey KC Wong as the rider of TALENTED.
Trainer Wayne Lim was fined RM250- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 109(1) for failing to ensure that NINGALOO was presented to the holding area within the stipulated time.
EMIRATES WARRIOR (R Rueven) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
FAST AND SUPER (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly, brushing the outside gate.
A post-race veterinary examination of TESORO PUBLICO (Y Aify) revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

GENERAL REPORT – PNTC
RACE 2 (R611) CLASS 5(B) – 1300M, SATURDAY, 2ND DAY, 21st MAY 2022, PENANG MAY MEETING 2022
At the conclusion of an Inquiry today at PRTC, Jockey CK Khaw, the rider of GOLDEN SHOW was found guilty to a charge for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards under MRA Rule 44(10).
The details of the charge were that from the 300M-mark, he failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination when his mount was running on strongly.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey CK Khaw’s record and mitigating factors. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months, effective Sunday, 22nd May 2022 and to expire on Wednesday, 21st September 2022, both dates inclusive. In addition, Jockey CK Khaw was fined a sum of RM20,000/-. He was advised of his right of appeal (11.53am).
Trainer T Asogan, the trainer of GOLDEN SHOW pleaded guilty to a charge for misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he condoned the ride of Jockey CK Khaw on GOLDEN SHOW when the ride was clearly contentious. Trainer T Asogan was fined a sum of RM10,000/- and was advised of his right of appeal (12.45pm).
