RACE 1 (R332) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc)
THE JEWELLER, a course scratching as it had sustained a sole bruised off hind sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again
Emergency acceptors PURPLE RAIN LADY and CHIEF CLERK were withdrawn due to a capacity field.
SUPREME JUSTICE which was up 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
KING RAVANA (R Rueven) and JOYFUL (AK Lim) were both examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.
SONNY BILL (KC Wong) was slow into stride.
Despite winning, the Panel of Stewards questioned Jockey R Rueven with regards to the manner in which he rode KING RAVANA, especially in the backstraight. Jockey R Rueven had no explanations, other than in his opinion, the pace was fast, which the Panel of Stewards did not agree with. He was warned to ride all his mounts out in such a manner so as to leave no room for query.
Jockey J Daniel, the rider of GALLANT BLACK reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of GALLANT BLACK revealed no obvious abnormality, however the gelding returned having cast its near fore plate.
A post-race veterinary examination of SUPREME JUSTICE (Y Aify) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer Evert van Breukelen was questioned with regards to the tactics on IPOH DASH today. He explained that his instruction was not to lead, but to sit handy, however, due to the pace being slow, he found himself in front. His explanations were noted.

Emergency acceptors GLORY AGE, CROWN DELIGHT and LIM’S KEYWAY were withdrawn due to a capacity field
MAGICAL PARK which was up 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
SECOND CHANCE (S Saddam) was slow into stride.
IMMORTALITY (SS Vanan) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
At approximately the 200M-mark, SECOND CHANCE was crowded between SING EXPRESS (J Daniel) and RELIC WARRIOR (HK Cheng) when SING EXPRESS rolled outwards.
A post-race veterinary examination of SECOND CHANCE revealed no obvious abnormality.

EMPEROR WARRIOR, a course scratching as it had sustained nail bind injury on its near fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again
Emergency acceptors GOLD KIDS and SONG KID were withdrawn due to a capacity field
STRONG MAN which was up 15kgs since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
The Panel of Stewards permitted App I Firdzriel to replace App I Firdza as the rider of HERO CHAMPION when the latter was certified unwell.
The Starter reported that this race was started manually.
BLUE EYED BOY (S Saddam) which stood and was very slow to begin, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of TOP TURF reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of TOP TURF revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that THUNDERSTRUCK (KC Wong) had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon also reported that STRONG MAN (App A Saran) returned having cast its near hind plate.

CHERISH, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again
Emergency acceptors GOLDEN ROOSTER and LUCKY GIANT were withdrawn due to a capacity field
JOON HO (J Daniel) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
The gate of D’GREAT VULTURE (AK Lim) was marginally slow to open, resulting in this horse being slow into stride.
Under the provisions of MRA Rule 115, the Panel of Stewards declared BLACK MAMBA (CK Khaw) a non-runner, as its barrier gate did not open. All bets on BLACK MAMBA would be refunded.
SHA NA NA (Y Aify) and JOON HO were slow into stride.
The saddle on JOON HO slipped back during the running.
Jockey S Salee, the rider of CHIPS reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of CHIPS revealed no obvious abnormality.

ONE FOR ALL and MA BAO BAO, both course scratching which had sustained a swollen near fore cannon and sore off hind foot respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Emergency acceptor MYSTICAL STAR was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
ASIAN TIGER which was down 25kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
GOLDEN BOLD (M Yusri) which stood and was very slow to begin, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
The saddle on D’GREAT DUCHESS (KC Wong) slipped forward during the running, placing its rider at a disadvantage. A post-race veterinary examination of D’GREAT DUCHESS which returned having cast its off fore plate, revealed no obvious abnormality.
Jockey M Yusri was questioned with regards to GOLDEN BOLD being slow to begin today. He explained that the gelding slipped on jumping, resulting in it being slowly away. Trainer PK Leong, the trainer of GOLDEN BOLD was also questioned with regards to this matter. He stated that the jockey was instructed to get a good jump and try to ride handy. Their explanations were noted. A post-race veterinary examination of GOLDEN BOLD revealed no obvious abnormality, however GOLDEN BOLD which raced poorly, will also be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

MOONGATE LIGHT, a course scratching as it sustained a laceration on its right chest, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again
SUPER COME which was up 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
PLACE YOUR BET (HK Cheng) was hanging in in the backstraight.
Jockeys CK Khaw, R Rueven and M Yusri, the riders of SUPER WINNER, YOU ROKK and LAUS DEO respectively, all reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SUPER WINNER revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and having cast its off fore plate. Post-race examinations of YOU ROKK revealed no obvious abnormality and LAUS DEO returned with respiratory distress. As such, SUPER WINNER and LAUS DEO will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

SANGKURIANG, MR ROCKWELL and AWATERE are course scratching. SANGKURIANG had sustained a swollen off fore fetlock, MR ROCKWELL had sustained an abrasion on its left stifle and AWATERE had sustained a swollen off fore fetlock. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again
KIPEH which was down 20kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey CK Tan to replace App K Pavinthran as the rider of MERCHANT MARINE, when the latter had failed to comply with the Club’s SOP.
Trainer S Shanmugam was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on ASIAN JET.
ASIAN JET (J Daniel) jumped awkwardly outwards and CLASSIC KING (AK Lim) jumped awkwardly inwards, resulting in LADY BLA BLA (HS Gill) and MODRIC (App A Saran) being crowded.
Trainer S Hamilton was questioned with regards to the improved performance of MODRIC today. She explained that the horse had been working very well recently and she expected that it would run well, coupled with the fact that in her opinion, it was a relatively weaker field today. Her explanations were noted.
A post-race veterinary examination of DON’T FORGET THIS (KC Wong) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 8 (R339) OPEN MAIDEN (WFA) – 1400m (lc)
SEVEN SUNDAE which was up 19kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
A post-race veterinary examination of SEVEN SUNDAE (App I Firdzriel) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of VEGAS SHOWGIRL reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of VEGAS SHOWGIRL revealed that the filly had bled and as such, will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
An Inquiry was opened today into the running and handling of SEVEN SUNDAE, ridden by App I Firdzriel and trained by Trainer HY Cheng. Evidence was taken from App I Firdzriel in the presence of his acting trainer, Trainer KF Wong and Trainer HY Cheng. After reviewing the race videos, App I Firdzriel was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
The particulars of the charge were that:
1) App I Firdzriel failed to give sufficient reins on jumping;
2) Failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination in the straight.
Thereby, failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account his disciplinary records and mitigating factors. App I Firdzriel was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months, effective from Sunday, 20th March 2022 and to expire on Tuesday, 19th July 2022, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was fined the sum of RM10,000/- He was advised of his right of appeal (6.10pm).
