RACE 1 (R240) CLASS 5(B) – 1600m(lc) SUNFLOWER HANDICAP
NAPOLEON (S Anandan) was slow to begin.
Post-race veterinary examinations of JUSTICE GRACE (J Chuah), GET THE LOTSKI (M Yusri) and BALBOA (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 2 (R241) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m(lc) HIBISCUS HANDICAP
SECOND CHANCE (S Anandan) was slow into stride.
Racing to the 300M, TOP TURF (App SN Shiva) which was laying in, shifted in, resulting in FORTUNE SPIRIT (App I Firdzriel) being taken inwards and passing the 250M, TOP TURF continued to shift in, resulting in FORTUNE SPIRIT being taken inwards again. App SN Shiva, the rider of TOP TURF in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Mr. K Coetzee was shown the vision of the incidents in the straight and advised that although he has straightened his mount in the first incident, he should have make a greater effort to keep his mount under better control.
Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by App I Firdzriel, the rider of FORTUNE SPIRIT, placed 3rd against TOP TURF, placed 2nd on grounds of alleged interference between the 300M and the 100M.
After considering all the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race. The objection was overruled and the results stood.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SECOND CHANCE and IKING (J De Souza) revealed that these geldings had returned lame near fore and lame near hind respectively. Both these geldings will be required to pass a test each (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. KING’S ORDER (SU Lim) which returned broken-winded, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of D’GREAT MAGIC (R Shafiq) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 3 (R242) COSMO C (SW) – 1600m(lc) ROSE STAKES
MR DAVID (R Rueven) was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 1.03pm to avoid undue delay, when it lost its near fore plate and could not be re-shod at the barrier.
RACER KING (KC WONG) was slow to begin.
TIC TAC TOE (M Yusri) was very slow to begin.
SOON YOU THINK (HK Cheng) jumped away awkwardly.
CONGRATU (App P Mogun) had to shift out to avoid the heels of BACK TO THE TOWERS (SU Lim) passing the 400M, to obtain a clear running.
SOON YOU THINK which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of NOT USUAL PRINCE (HS Gill) as to its improved performance today. Trainer K Coetzee stated that at its previous start on 12th January 2020 at the Perak Derby over 2400M, the horse had not been suited in that race. The Panel of Stewards noted his explanation.
Post-race veterinary examinations of RACER KING, TIC TAC TOE and SOON YOU THINK revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R243) CLASS 5(B) – 1200m(lc) CINERARIA HANDICAP
ARCHER COMPANY, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of MR DREYFUSS into that gelding’s poor performance today. Trainer K Coetzee explained that the gelding had not backed up from its start last week in Kuala Lumpur and he was of the opinion that MR DREYFUSS had been racing consistently over the last month and would go for a spell. His explanations were noted. A post-race veterinary examination of MR DREYFUSS (S Anandan) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer Evert van Breukelen, the trainer of SOLID BRISK (App S Hafis) into that gelding’s improved performance today. He stated that SOLID BRISK was better-suited by the 1200M in today’s race and had drawn well. His explanations were noted.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of DARK EXPRESS reported that his mount was making respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination of DARK EXPRESS revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of TILSWORTH JOSHI (SU Lim) and DARCI SUPER (App S Saddam) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 5 (R244) CLASS 5 (A) – 1200m(lc) LILY HANDICAP
LADY LAKSHIMI (App P Mogun) jumped away awkwardly and threw its head about on several occasions.
MY AIM (App S Saddam) had to check to avoid the heels of SWISS ROLL (App S Hafis) racing to the 100M and shifted to obtain a clear running.
LADY LAKSHIMI laid out over the final 50M and finished wider on the track.
Jockeys K Eirwan and R Rueven, the rider of NUMERO UNO and SPECIAL RAIN respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of NUMERO UNO and SPECIAL RAIN revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of YOU ARE GENIUS (S Anandan) revealed that the gelding returned with respiratory distress and SWISS ROLL (App S Hafis) returned having bled. YOU ARE GENIUS will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. SWISS ROLL will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 93(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a Bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

RACE 6 (R245) ENRICH STAKES A (SW) – 1200m (sc) ORCHID STAKES
STREET TAIPAN, a course scratching as it had sustained a corneal ulcer in its right eye, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Due to printing error, MACARTHUR is drawn barrier 2, not 1 as shown on the race card.
Acting on veterinary advice that CROWN STAR (J De Souza) was lame off fore behind the barriers, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2.29pm. CROWN STAR will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
PENDRAGON PRINCESS (App SN Shiva) jumped away awkwardly and threw its head up shortly after the start. App SN Shiva, the rider of PENDRAGON PRINCESS in the presence of his Trainer, Mr. K Coetzee was shown the vision of the start and advised that he must ensure that his mounts get their best possible jump and to ride in a manner to leave no room for query.
BLACK AND WHITE (App S Saddam) jumped away awkwardly.
Jockey S Anandan, the rider of MACARTHUR reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of MACARTHUR revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of LIM’S PIPER (J Chuah) which raced poorly, revealed no obvious abnormality. LIM’S PIPER will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 7 (R246) CLASS 4 (A) – 1000m (sc) PEACH BLOSSOM HANDICAP
LUCKY GIANT, a course scratching as it had sustained a sore back, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
TRIPLE ONE D’GREAT which was down 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to race.
Acting on veterinary advice that LUKE MAN (KC Wong) was very fractious in the parading area and could not be re-shod in its off hind, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.05pm.
THAI BAHT (CK Tan) and STIRLING (App S Hafis) were both slow to begin.
WORLD HARMONY (App CT Lee) and STAGESHOW (C Goon) were both slow into stride.
Jockey J De Souza, the rider of D’GREAT EMINENCE dropped his whip at the 50M and was fined a sum of RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a).
Post-race veterinary examinations of BAKUTEH (S Anandan), SPEEDY DEMON (S Salee) and THAI BAHT revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer KF Wong, the trainer of PURPLE RAIN into that gelding’s improved performance today. Trainer KF Wong explained that the gelding is better-suited by the 1000M race today. His explanations were noted.

RACING MAN, a course scratching as they had sustained a bruised near hind sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
BLACK GHOST which was down 19kgs in body weight since its last run, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to race.
MARTELLO (App CT Lee) jumped away awkwardly.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MOON BABY (HS Gill) and GOOD TASTE (KC Wong) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards questioned App CT Lee, the rider of MARTELLO in the presence of his acting Trainer, Mr. C Robert. After taking initial evidence, an Inquiry into the riding and handling of MARTELLO will be held on a date to be fixed.

Trainer S Cook is fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to remove pacifiers and the use of winkers on ARTEMISTER within the stipulated time.
MYSTICAL STAR (App CT Lee) was slow into stride.
Post-race veterinary examinations of ROSES FOR ME (KC Wong), EMPIRE BAY (HK Cheng) and POWER EXPRESS (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that DON’T FORGET THIS (M Yusri) returned with a cut on its near hind cannon and as such, the gelding will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

RACE 10 (R249) CLASS 4 (B) – 1400m (sc) PEONY HANDICAP
JJ STAR, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
PHAN NEE STAR (App S Hafis) and RAISE ME UP (HK Cheng) were slow to begin.
Passing the 1000M, HAPPY BUFFFALO (C Goon) ran out and continued to race to the outside of the track and on entering the straight, shifted to the outside fence, finishing the race wide. Due to the gelding’s adverse history, HAPPY BUFFALO was suspended from racing for a period of one (1) month, effective Monday, 17th February 2020 and to expire on Monday, 16th March 2020, both dates inclusive and thereafter will be required to pass two (2) starting stall tests at weekly intervals before being declared to race again. A post-race veterinary examination of HAPPY BUFFALO revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of CHIEF CLERK (KC Wong) and PHAN NEE STAR revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 11 (R250) CLASS 4 (A) – 1400m (sc) DAISY HANDICAP
Trainer SY Lim is fined RM150/- and is required to pay the full entry fees (RM159.00) for scratching LAUGHING BUFFALO without a Veterinary Certificate under Clause 3.5 of the PRTC Official Programme.
PENTAGON, a course scratching as it had respiratory allergy, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
MR DJ (KC Wong) jumped away awkwardly.
Post-race veterinary examinations of D’GREAT VULTURE (J De Souza) and KING POWER (HK Cheng) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BRAHMS AND LISZT (J Daniel) had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 93(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a Bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Jockey C Goon, the rider of IPOH DASH into the reasons he lost ground between the 800M to the 600M. Jockey C Goon explained that between the 800M to the 600M, he urged IPOH DASH hands and heels, but it failed to respond to his riding until at about the 400M, when he rode with the whip, the gelding finished the race off fairly. His explanations were noted.
