RACE 1 (R1027) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc) TONG YUEN HANDICAP
TAIWAN CAPTAIN, OVERSEER and INTROIT are all course scratching. TAIWAN CAPTAIN had sustained a bruised right knee. OVERSEER had injured its both hind bumper, while INTROIT had sustained a bruised left knee. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
ORDOS LEGEND (App A Azizi) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.
App Z Syafifie, the rider of SACRED GALAXY reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had returned with an epiglottic entrapment. The Club Veterinary Surgeon recommended that SACRED GALAXY would be required to undergo a corrective surgery and thereafter, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of ORDOS LEGEND revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 2 (R1028) CLASS 5 (A) – 1400m (lc) FIRE DRAGON DANCE HANDICAP
SHANGHAI CAPTAIN and ROSES FOR ME are both course scratching. SHANGHAI CAPTAIN had sustained bruised near fore suspensory ligament and ROSES FOR ME sustained bruised off hind cannon. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
FIRST COMMAND (J Low) and BRISTOL DIAMOND (J Daniel) were slow into stride.
The saddle on BRISTOL DIAMOND slipped back during the running.
STAR INVINCIBLE (HK Cheng) had a tendency to lay out in the straight.
A post-race veterinary examination of YULONG DREAM (AM Aizat) revealed that the gelding had returned with a severe speedy cut on its near hind and as such, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

RACE 3 (R1029) CLASS 5 (B) – 1400m (lc) WATER CALTROPS HANDICAP
SNAGGLE PUSS which was up 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
LUCK HAPPY (AK Lim) was crowded shortly after the start when SING DARCI (App SN Shiva) jumped awkwardly outwards.
At approximately the 300M-mark, THE SWAN (S Anandan) rolled inwards, resulting in LIM’S HOPEFULLY (HK Cheng) being inconvenienced momentarily and switching out to obtain a clear run.
HELLO MONDAY (S Ruzaini) hang out in the straight.
Jockey KP Lim, the rider of SNAGGLE PUSS reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SNAGGLE PUSS revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R1030) ENRICH STAKES A- 1400M (lc) (SW) MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL STAKES
STRONG N POWERFUL and MR ALEJANDRO both are course scratching. STRONG N POWERFUL had sustained a bruised off fore tendon while MR ALEJANDRO sustained a nail pricked to its off fore foot. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
RELAU STAR (S Hafis) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
TEOCHEW KID (L De Souza) dipped on jumping.

RACE 5 (R1031) CLASS 4 (A) – 1300m (lc) LANTERN MOONCAKE FESTIVAL HANDICAP
NOVA FALCON (J Low) jumped awkwardly, was slow into stride and shortly thereafter, LAGO DE COMO (App R Ruwaidy) rolled inwards, further inconveniencing NOVA FALCON.
DISCRETELY RED (J Daniel) jumped awkwardly.
THE BOSS (KC Tham) was laying in, in the straight.
LAGO DE COMO was hanging out in the straight, finishing the race wide.
Post-race veterinary examinations of FAST AND SUPER (S Hafis) and SHOWCASE THE GOLD (Z Khairil) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that LAGO DE COMO returned having cast its off fore plate.
The state of track was upgraded to ‘Yielding’ after the running of this race.

ZHU CAPTAIN (App R Ruwaidy) was slow into stride.
BAKUTEH (S Ruzaini) raced wide throughout.
Jockey L De Souza, the rider of GIFTED reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination of GIFTED revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 8 (R1034) OPEN MAIDEN – 1200m (sc) FESTIVAL SIPS STAKES
UNLIMITED STAR which was down 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
This race was run in steady rain.
SUPREME SUCCESS (S Anandan) was slow into stride.
The saddle on SPIDERMAN (App Z Syafifie) slipped back during the running, resulting in the rider being unable to assist his mount fully.
App R Ruwaidy and App Z Syafifie, the riders of USA CAPTAIN and SPIDERMAN respectively, both reported that their mounts could not handle the going.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SPIDERMAN and UNLIMITED STAR (S Hafis) revealed no obvious abnormality.
All riders returned an average of 2kgs over.

Heavy rain fell prior to and during the running of this race.
The state of track was downgraded to ‘Heavy.’
No Stewards’ report due to poor visibility and no video footage being available.
A post-race veterinary examination of KING POWER (KC Tham) revealed no obvious abnormality.
All riders returned an average of 2kgs over.
Due to heavy rain, poor visibility and lightning, the Panel of Stewards decided to abandon Race 10.

GENERAL REPORT
The Senior Veterinary Surgeon of the Perak Turf Club reported that the following horse had undergone corrective surgery at the Perak Turf Club Equine Hospital between 22nd August 2023 to 21st September 2023 and as such, will be subjected to pass a Steward’s Embargo Test before being declared to race again: –

TALENTED (X 58) Tr. HY Cheng – Arthroscopy Right Knee – 1000M/Vet
RACE 10 (R1036) CLASS 5 (B) – 1200m (sc) HOU YI HANDICAP
SHARP DRESSED MAN and CHAR SIEW both are course scratching. SHARP DREESED MAN had sustained bruised left hock while CHAR SIEW had sustained a bruised off hind sole. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
POST-RACE ANALYSIS (EQUINE):
26th AUGUST 2023 – PERAK AUGUST MEETING 2023
The report dated 7th September 2023 (V23/132) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 28 coded urine and 28 sets of coded blood samples from the above- mentioned race meeting were received on 26th August 2023, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
JOCKEY URINE SAMPLES:
