RACE 1 (R310) CLASS 5 – 1400m(lc) – TURQUOISE HANDICAP
APROBACION which was up 22kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
CHINESE STREET (Z Khairil) was checked at the start when GOLDEN EMPIRE (App M Sathiaa) shifted in and at the same time, when BLACK DIAMOND (App AK Lim) shifted out away from PHILIP (J De Souza).
PRINCE ISLANDER (S Anandan) was slow to begin.
BLADEMEISTER (TM Wan) laid out and raced wide from the 700M until entering the straight.
PRINCE ISLANDER was held up for clear running at the 700M when getting onto the heels of APROBACION (App KC Tham).
Jockey TM Wan and App AK Lim, the riders of BLADEMEISTER and BLACK DIAMOND respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of BLADEMEISTER revealed no obvious abnormality and BLACK DIAMOND returned broken-winded. As such, BLACK DIAMOND will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of PISCES JET (M Yusri), CHINESE STREET and PHILIP revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 2 (R311) CLASS 5 – 1400m(lc) – OPAL HANDICAP
SUPER DRAGON (F Yap) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and passed fit to start.
SING ENERGY (HS Gill) was slow into stride.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SUPER DRAGON revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and AIR POWER revealed no obvious abnormality. SUPER DRAGON will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey TM Wan, the rider of DAWN PROSPECT pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding DAWN PROSPECT shortly after the start, he shifted in when insufficiently clear of EMPIRE BAY (App KC Tham) which had to be steadied and he continued to shift further in and resulting in LUCK HAPPY (SU Lim) being carried inward and bumped AIR POWER (App CK Khaw) which had to be checked and MISS STREISAND (App KC Wong) which was following, had to be steadied and lost its position.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey TM Wan’s guilty plea and his license to ride in races was suspended for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, effective Monday, 12th March 2018 and to expire on 24th March 2018, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his right of appeal (1.36pm).

RACE 3 (R312) CLASS 5 – 1200m(lc) – JADE HANDICAP
JET ACE, RISE UP THE RANK and DUBLEO BEAUTY, all course scratching as they had sustained a float injury to its left hip, a bruised back and bruised right knee respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
VALBERRY, which was up 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
DON’T FORGET THIS (F Yap) which was fractious in the barrier, jumped away awkwardly, was slow into stride and showed no early pace despite being urged.
MR DREAMMAN (S Anandan) and GLORY KID (App KC Wong) were both slow into stride.
Post-race veterinary examinations of UNCLE GLORY (HK Cheng) and GLORY KID revealed no obvious abnormality and MR DREAMMAN had returned broken-winded. As such, MR DREAMMAN will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer M Sukri, the trainer of SGFIFTY into its improved performance today. He stated that he could offer no tangible explanation, other than the change of rider and racing on a firmer track today. His explanation was noted.

RACE 4 (R313) RESTRICTED MAIDEN – 1200m(lc) – BLUE TOPAZ STAKES
[2 & 3 YEAR OLDS ONLY] [WEIGHT-FOR-AGE]
PATRIOT ECLIPSE, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised right shoulder, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
JEFFREY (J Mallyon) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, taking TEH TARIK (TM Wan) wider on the track and thereafter, JEFFREY raced very greenly and was very difficult to settle.
SUPER HARD (Z Khairil) had to be steadied racing to the 900M to avoid the heels of OUR MATE CHARLIE (App M Hanif) which had clipped the heels of SCREAMING AMIGA (J De Souza) and stumbled, resulting in App M Hanif becoming unbalanced for a short distance.
CENTURY WORLD (S Sandana) raced greenly in the early stages and was very difficult to settle until racing to the 700M.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SCREAMING AMIGA had bled and as such, the filly will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

RACE 5 (R314) CLASS 4 – 1600m (lc) – EMERALD HANDICAP
STAR CHOICE, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
IDYLLIC SCENERY (M Yusri) had its off hind plate re-shod, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and passed fit to start.
LUCK SUCCESS (App KC Tham) jumped away awkwardly and lost the use of his off side iron for a few strides.
CRAZY CLUB (J Mallyon) had to be steadied at the 1200M when tightened for room.
IKING (R Rueven) had to be checked racing to the 500M, to avoid the heels of BERCHAM (App S Hafis).
LUCK SUCCESS and WILLIAM KING (CK Tan) bumped each other on several occasions passing the 200M.
Post-race veterinary examinations of ALASAMO (Z Khairil), IKING and BERCHAM revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 6 (R315) CLASS 4 – 1600m (lc) – RUBY HANDICAP
FOURVIERE, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
FLYING WINNER was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 12.20pm, acting on veterinary advice that it had sustained a cut on its left eye and the gelding will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
App AK Lim and Jockey SU Lim, the riders of JOYFUL and RIGHT TIMING respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of JOYFUL and RIGHT TIMING revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of GRAND SHOW and WINNING STAR revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 7 (R316) CLASS 5 – 1800m (sc) – AGATE HANDICAP
BALBOA, a course scratching as it had sustained a sore back, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
GOLD COAST CAPTAIN which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
SINGSURAT (J Mallyon) was slow to begin.
Racing to the 1500M, GOLD COAST CAPTAIN (M Leong) the stirrup leather became undone and came off, placing Jockey M Leong at a severe disadvantage throughout the race. As a consequence, GOLD COAST CAPTAIN was eased up at about the 200M. The Panel of Stewards inspected Jockey M Leong’s gear and were satisfied with its condition.
CARBON COPY (M Yusri) had to be steadied racing to the 1400M when AMONGST THE STARS (App W Faizal) rolled in.
SHARP KNIGHT (Y Aify) shifted in to avoid the heels of GOLD COAST CAPTAIN at the 350M to obtain clear running.
AMONGST THE STARS was disappointed for a run on the heels of SHARP KNIGHT racing to the 300M and had to shift out to obtain clear running.
Racing to the 200M, SINGSURAT had to be steadied to avoid the heels of CARBON COPY which rolled out.
Post-race veterinary examinations of LUCK DRAGON (App I Firdzriel), SINGSURAT, NAPOLEON (Z Khairil) and AMONGST THE STARS revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 8 (R317) CLASS 5 – 1400m (sc) – TIGER’S EYE HANDICAP
DUE HOME, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off hind sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
MY GOODNESS (J De Souza) had its off fore plate re-shod, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and passed fit to start.
CHARLIE CAME ALONG (Z Khairil) refused to jump and took no part in the race. Due to its adverse history, CHARLIE CAME ALONG is suspended from racing for a period of three (3) months and will be required to pass two (2) consecutive starting stall tests at weekly intervals before being declared to race again.
Jockey CK Tan, the rider of JUST NAME IT reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of JUST NAME IT revealed that the gelding returned with epiglotic entrapment and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of SUCCESSION (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 9 (R318) CLASS 5 – 1200m (sc) – SAPPHIRE HANDICAP
BANDA SEA and HEAVENLY GIFT, both course scratching as they had sustained a bruised left knee and bruised off fore fetlock respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
ONE MORE ACHIEVER (M Yusri) reared on jumping away, resulting in Jockey M Yusri’s head striking the top of the barrier bar. As a consequence, ONE MORE ACHIEVER was very awkward into stride and lost considerable ground.
WINGED FOOT (App CK Khaw) was slow to begin.
MR DREYFUSS (S Sandana) had to steady at the 200M to avoid the heels of BOLD PASSION (App J Daniel).
Post-race veterinary examinations of MR DREYFUSS, BOLD PASSION, ONE MORE ACHIEVER and GREAT GERONIMO (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that MAGICAL TEN (App KC Tham) returned lame both fore and as such, the mare will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Selangor Turf Club Racing Stewards heard the above appeal on 7 March 2018.
After considering submissions from App P Haris, in the presence of his Master, Trainer Johnny Lim, and the Acting Chief Stipendiary Steward, the Racing Stewards allowed the appeal and reduced the suspension to 2 months, to commence on 7 March 2018 and to expire on 6 May 2018, both dates inclusive, to be served concurrently with his current suspension. His deposit will be refunded.

GENERAL REPORT – PRTC
RACE 4 (R287) ENRICH STAKES A (SW) – 1100m(str) – AUSTRALIA STAKES
2nd DAY, SUNDAY, 4TH MARCH 2018, PERAK MARCH MEETING 2018
The Panel of Stewards concluded an Inquiry today, Saturday, 10th March 2018 into the riding of RELAU STAR, ridden by Jockey S Sandana and trained by Trainer KF Wong.
Trainer KF Wong explained that RELAU STAR was racing for the first time in a straight course in the above race and in his opinion, the horse was inexperienced, resulting in it shifting to the rails.
Jockey S Sandana stated that from the 400M, when he commenced to ride with the whip, RELAU STAR continued to shift in until the winning post. He was of the opinion that the horse was inexperienced on a straight course and when placed under the whip, caused the horse to shift ground. His explanation was noted. The Panel of Stewards advised him that he should make better effort to keep his mount straight when on a straight course in future.
RACE 8 (R291) CLASS 5 – 1200m (lc) – FIRST SEAL HANDICAP
2nd DAY, SUNDAY, 4TH MARCH 2018, PERAK MARCH MEETING 2018
The Panel of Stewards concluded an Inquiry today, Saturday, 10th March 2018 into the improved performance of WE’RE THE WORLD, ridden by Jockey TM Wan and trained by Trainer PK Leong.
The Panel of Stewards reviewed the race of WE’RE THE WORLD of 3rd February 2018 when the gelding was beaten 18.3 lengths. Jockey TM Wan explained that WE’RE THE WORLD had drawn a wide barrier and it is not suited by the distance. He further stated that in today’s race from barrier 1, the gelding jumped well and when being urged forward, responded well and led. In his opinion, it was suited by the 1200M of today’s race. He could offer no further explanations. His explanation was noted and was advised that he must ride in consistent manner, so as to leave no room for query.
Trainer PK Leong was advised of the Rule regarding ‘in-and-out’ running under MRA Rule 117(3).
